TWO 100-YARD RUSHERS LEAD ECC PAST EISENHOWER

ST. MARYS -- Paced by two 100-yard rushers, the Elk County Catholic Crusaders breezed to victory in their opener Friday night at Ducth Country Stadium rolling over the visiting Eisenhower Knights by the score of 34-0.

Todd Silfies led the strong Crusader rushing attack with 14 carries and 141 yards and one touchdown. Ted Cherry iced the game in the second half for Elk as he scored two touchdowns and rushed for 118 yards on only 4 carries. Craig Timm chipped in with 76 yards on the ground in 12 carries and he also scored the first touchdown of the game.

Next weeks game on the road at Coudersport shapes up as an early season dandy for the Crusaders as the Falcons went into Ridgway tonight and defeated the Elkers 21-6.
