RIDGWAY RUSHES TO WIN OVER KANE

KANE - The Ridgway Elkers withstood a late Kane rally to defeat the Wolves 18-13 in an AML Southern Division game.

Kane won the coin toss and elected to receive.  It took the Wolves only two plays to score.  Tyler Smith completed an eight yard pass to Hugh Rich, the followd it with a 63 yard pass and run by Justin Jefferds for a touchdown with only 43 seconds gone in the game.  Jared Cecchetti booted the extra point and Kane led 7-0.

The Elkers responded immediately on their first possession.  Cody Mathis ran for 14 yards.  Brandon Steger ripped off 7 yards on firtst down. Dustin Dickant followed that with a 60 yard run to paydirt.  Jon Fleming's kick was no good and Kane led 7-6 with just 1:52 gone in the first quarter.

Ridgway scored again with 3:53 left in the first quarter on a strong 25 yard field goal by Jon Fleming to lead  9-7 at the end of the first half.

After a Kane fumble late in the third quarter, the Elkers took over at the Kane 23.  Five plays later, Ryan Mitchell bulldozed his way into the endzone for a score.  Jared Cecchetti blocked the extra point kick by Fleming, but Ridgway led 15-7.  The Wolves had another try before the third quarter, but Ridgway's defense prevented a score.  After three quarters, Ridgway led 15-7 .

Ridgway took the ball to start the fourth quarter and put on a rushing clinic.  A 15 play 71 yard drive that consumed 7:05 ended with another field goal by the strong right foot of Fleming from 33 yards out to make it 18-7 with 4:55 remaining in the game.

Kane's Tyler Smith led the Wolves to their final score with 31 seconds remaining with a four yard run to make the final 18-13, Ridgway.

The Elkers move to 2-3 on the season.  The Wolves fall to 1-4.
