OWLS ROUT BROOKVILLE

WEEK 6

BROOKVILLE -- Unbeaten Bradford continued its march through the schedule as the Owls routed Brookville, 52-6, in District 9 League action Friday night.

The Owls (6-0 overall, 4-0 D-9 League) moved to within one win of winning the league title outright. A win next week at DuBois would clinch the title outright.

Bradford, off to its first 6-0 start since the 1971 team went unbeaten, led 32-0 after the first quarter and 46-0 at intermission. The second half breezed by thanks to the PIAA Mercy Rule and each team scored a touchdown.

Elliott George led a balanced Bradford attack by scoring the team's first two touchdowns on runs of 10 and 19 yards. He also blocked a punt that resulted in Rocky Decasper's recovery in the end zone for a touchdown. George rushed for 80 yards on only six carries.

Jason Casey also scored twice on a 37-yard run and a 62-yard punt return. He rushed for 77 yards on only five carries. Jim Nuzzo scored on a 3-yard run. Bradford benched its starters at halftime. The Owls' only score of the second half came Sean Hvizdak's 69-yard run with 3:23 remaining in the game.

Brookville (0-6, 0-4) scored its only touchdown on Cole Cook's 19-yard pass to Keith Richards with 51 seconds left in the third quarter.
