EISENHOWER 37, OTTO-ELDRED 8

DUKE CENTER – Jacoby Curtis threw two touchdown passes to help Eisenhower to a 37-8 win over Otto-Eldred Friday night at Otto.

Curtis was 6-for-12 passing for 136 yards and the two touchdowns, while Ryan Irwin caught three passes for 113 yards and one touchdown. The Knights also got a 155 yards combined rushing from Bart Moon and Brysten Jones with Moon gaining 79 yards on 10 carries and Jones 76 on 12. Moon also scored a touchdown.

Otto scored first to take an 8-0 lead before Curtis came up with a big interception on defense to set up Eisenhower’s first score. Two plays after the interception, Moon ran 34 yards to paydirt to cut the Terror lead to 8-6.

Another Otto-Eldred turnover, this time a fumble that was recovered by Jake Rulander at the Knight 31-yard line set up the next Eisenhower touchdown. The score came on a 58-yard pass from Curtis to Irwin that gave the Knights a 12-8 lead.

A big special teams play led to Eisenhower’s next touchdown, as Jordan Colingwood blocked an Otto punt at the 10-yard line and Josh Abbey picked the ball up for the touchdown and an 18-8 Eisenhower lead.

Another Otto-Eldred turnover led directly to the next Knight touchdown when the Terrors fumbled the ball at the Eisenhower 22-yard line and Jake Christensen picked the fumble up and returned it 78 yards for the Eisenhower touchdown and a 25-8 lead.

Yet another Terror turnover, this time a second interception by Curtis, lead to the next Eisenhower score. This time it was a 22-yard field goal by Christensen that gave the Knights a 28-8 lead.

Cody Hitchcock then accounted for the next two Eisenhower points when he tackled the Otto ball carrier in the end zone for a safety and a 30-8 lead.

The Knights ended the scoring on an 8-yard touchdown pass from Curtis to Tyler Cathcart. Jake Way’s extra point gave Eisenhower a 37-8 lead.

UNION 14, WEST SHAMOKIN 8

NuMINE – Seth Stewart’s 4-yard run in overtime gave Union’s its first win of the season 14-8 over West Shamokin Friday night at West Shamokin.

The Golden Knights (1-6 overall, 1-5 KSAC) had an 8-0 halftime lead after a 9-yard run by Dennis Shay in the second quarter.

West Shamokin (2-5, 2-5) tied the game at eight on a 40-yard touchdown pass from Trevor Henderson to Chris Reefer in the third quarter.

The game remained tied until Stewart’s overtime touchdown.

Zachary Toven, making his second start at quarterback, went 13-for-25 for 121 yards while throwing two interception to lead Union. Shat ran the ball 11 times for 43 yards, while Stewart had 10 carries for 34 yards. Jonny McKinney was the top Union receiver with five grabs for 57 yards, while Stewart had five for 37 yards.

Henderson was 5-for-14 passing for 133 yards and one touchdown and two interceptions for the Wolves. Bill Fulton ran the ball 15 times for 51 yards, while Reefer added 10 carries for 49 yards. Jon Nagy had three catches for 63 yards.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 32, ST. MARYS 14

ST. MARYS – Punxsutawney scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull away from St. Marys 32-14 in a D9 League game Friday night at St. Marys.

Punxsutawney (2-5 overall, 1-3 D9 League), who has won two games in a row, took an early 6- lead on a 50-yard run by Dustin Guidish with 8:55 left in the first quarter.

St. Marys (2-5, 1-3) came back to take a 7-6 lead early in the second quarter when Tony Kopp caught a 12-yard pass from Brandon Bennett with 11:19 left in the first half.

Punxsutawney retook the lead on a 14-yard run by Guidish with 4:35 left in the half. The two-point run failed leaving the Chucks with a 12-7 lead.

St. Marys retook the lead at 14-12 on a 23-yard pass from Bennett to Kopp with 2:40 left in the half, but Punxsutawney took an 18-14 halftime lead on a 68-yard pass from Joe martin to Del Bouch with 1:32 to go before halftime.

Punxsutawney then started to pull away early in the fourth quarter when Guidish scored on a 12-yard run five seconds into the quarter.

The Chucks then put the game away on a 1-yard run by Kory Blose with 3:58 to play.

Guidish led Punxsutawney with 15 carries for 106 yards and three touchdowns, while Martin was 4-for-8 for 114 yards and one touchdown.

Dan Fox ran 23 times for 133 yards to lead St. Marys, while Bennett was 4-for-12 for 55 yards and two touchdowns to go along with one interception. Kopp had four catches for 55 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Dutchmen receiving core.

RIDGWAY 21, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 16

RIDGWAY – Ben Buck’s 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown with 4:48 left in the first half proved to be the winning points as Ridgway (4-3) held off Elk County Catholic (3-4) 21-16 to win its third straight game.

All of the scoring came in the first half with Ridgway taking a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter before ECC outscored the Elkers 16-14 in the second quarter.

Ridgway got the game’s first touchdown on a 1-yard run by Ryan Mitchell with 7:16 left in the opening quarter. Jon Fleming's extra point gave the Elkers a 7-0 lead.

Ridgway upped the lead to 14-0 when Dustin Dickant scored on a 3-yard run with 10:34 left in the first half.

ECC cut the lead to 14-8 when Rocco Tettis caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Robert Pearsall and then caught the two-point pass from Pearsall with 4:48 left in the half.

But on the ensuing kickoff Buck returned the ball 80 yards to give Ridgway a 21-8 lead with 4:37 left in the half.

ECC cam right back and scored on a 1-yard run by Craig Timm with 26 seconds left in the half to cut the Ridgway lead to 21-16.

Timm’s touchdown, though, was the final scoring of the game.

The two teams were almost identical in the stat column with ECC gaining 220 yards on the night including 17 on the ground and Ridgway picking up 219 total yards including 150 on the ground.

Dickant led the Elker running attack with 14 carries for 60 yards, while former quarterback Brandon Steger had 11 carries for 39 yards.

Current QB Andy Kelly was 5-for-8 for 69 yards passing with Jesse DePanfilis catching four passes for 56 yards.

Timm led ECC with 15 carries for 56 yards and one touchdown, while Todd Silifies had 12 totes for 49 yards.

Pearsall was 7-for-13 passing for 83 yards and one touchdown with Silifies catching three passes for 30 yards and Timm two for 28 yards,

WILMINGTON 48, BROOKVILLE 6

WILMINGTON – Wilmington raced out to a 48-0 halftime lead on its way to a 48-6 win over Brookville (0-7) Friday night at Wilmington.

Brandon Whiting ran 10 times for 142 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Greyhounds attack, while Brandon Boron had four runs for 27 yards and two touchdowns helping Wilmington out gain Brookville 392 yards to 106 yards.

Matt Krawchyk added 127 yards rushing on seven carries for Wilmington who gained 354 of its yards on the ground.

The lone Brookville touchdown came on a 4-yard pass from Cole Cook to Ben Daniels with 7:06 left in the game.

Cook was 6-for-18 passing for 78 yards and one touchdown to go along with two interceptions. Daniels had five grabs for 67 yards and a score.
