COUDERSPORT WATCHES LEAD MELT AWAY IN FINAL 3:22 LEFT AS C-L RALLIES TO CLASS A TITLE GAME

NOV. 13, 2004 - District 9 Class A Semifinals

The Falcons (9-2) led 14-7 until Scott Davis hit Erik White with a 63-yard scoring pass with 3:22 left. Davis then hit Kaleb Klosky with the game-winning 43-yard touchdown pass with just 10 seconds to play to lift the Lions to their third straight District 9 Class A title game.

Coudersport led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter thanks to a 5-yard Jeremiah Wagner run with 7:51 left in the opening quarter.

C-L tied the game 1:39 into the second quarter on a 4-yard Trevor Williams run.

Coudersport went ahead 14-7 on a David Babcock 1-yard run with 7:41 left in the third quarter.

Coudersport gained 218 yards of offense including 104 on the ground and 114 in the air.

C-L managed 247 yards of offense including only 17 on the ground on 31 carries. Although 42.9 percent of those yards (106) came on the two late touchdown passes.

Babcock led Coudersport with 16 carries for 57 yards, while John Gerhart was 6-for-16 passing for 114 yards and two interceptions. Rob Cavallari had two catches for 59 yards and Mike Kehr added three catches for 55 yards,

Davis was 13-for-24 passing for 230 yards and two scores. Klosky had three grabs for 66 yards, while had two for 74 and Neil Reynolds three for 42.

C-L now plays Curwensville for the District 9 Class A title at 7 p.m. Friday at Clarion University’s Memorial Stadium.
