ERIE MCDOWELL ENDS DUBOIS' SEASON

NOV. 13, 2004 - D9-10 CLASS AAAA SUB-REGION GAME AT SLIPPERY ROCK

SLIPPERY ROCK – Jayson White ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, and Justin Hammond added 108 yards on 14 carries to lead Erie McDowell to a 28-6 win over DuBois in the District 9-10 Class AAAA sub-region game Saturday afternoon at Slippery Rock University.

McDowell outgained DuBois 364-214 on the day including 261-56 on the ground.

White scored on second-half runs of 18 and 10 yards.

McDowell led 14-0 at halftime on first quarter touchdowns by Rob Mattis (1-yard run) and Mike Nielsen (15-yard blocked punt return).

The Trojans went ahead 21-0 on White’s first touchdown run with 1:36 into the second half before Tony Wells recovered a fumble in the end zone with 8:39 left in the third quarter for the Beavers lone score.

White’s 10-yard run with 7:56 left in the game closed out the scoring.

Mike Stewart ran 12 times for 45 yard for DuBois, while Joe Wanson was 12-for-27 passing for 158 yards. Wells had three catches for 33 yards, Jon Malacarne three for 38 and Derrick Bundy two for 41.
