RIMERSBURG – Jared Heschke, Ethan Harmon and Kyle Galbraith each scored two touchdowns to lead the Brookville Raiders to a 41-19 win over Union at Union’s Vidunas Stadium. The win marked the first game of the Raiders’ return to the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference. The team left the then-Little 12 Conference after the 1992 season to join the D9 League but returned after the league disbanded after last year. Galbraith and Harmon each rushed for over 100 yards. Galbraith led the way with 161 yards on 19 carries while Harmon gained 108 on 14 attempts. Galbraith scored both of his touchdowns in the Raiders’ 28-point third quarter that helped break the game open against a stubborn Union squad that played the Raiders to a 13-13 tie in the first half. Galbraith’s first score was a 26-yard fumble recovery that opened the second-half scoring. He followed that up with a 6-yard run for a touchdown in the first of three straight scoring possessions for the Raiders. After Galbraith’s second TD, the Knights responded with Zach Traister’s 99-yard kickoff return, his second score of the game. He caught a 19-yard TD pass from Matt Gagliano in the first quarter. But Brookville answered with two more scores in the marathon third quarter. Harmon scored on a 43-yard run and Heschke caught his second TD pass from Garrett Weaver on a nifty 35-yard catch and run play. Heschke, a sophomore and younger brother of former Raiders standouts Nick and Shane, also made an interception that set up Harmon’s first TD in the second quarter and recovered a fumble. He caught a 14-yard TD pass from Weaver for the first score of the game. Union’s second score came on an 88-yard TD run from Colby Davis, who finished with 113 yards on 10 carries. Davis, however, was limited to just minus-2 yards on four carries in the second half. That was just part of a bigger trend that saw the Raiders outgain Union in the second half, 233-56.
