BROOKVILLE – Six different players scored, as the Karns City Gremlins routed the Brookville Raiders 42-7 in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference action Friday night.

The Gremlins (3-0 overall and KSAC) won their 23rd straight conference game, outgaining Brookville (1-2 overall, 1-1 KSAC) 393-98.

The Karns City defense sacked Brookville quarterbacks seven times for losses totaling 56 yards. Jake Wagner and Levi Buck each had two sacks. One of Wagner’s forced a fumble that was recovered by the Gremlins late in the first half and turned into a touchdown two plays later with four seconds left before halftime.

Karns City quarterback Anthony Stimac ran for an 18-yard touchdown in the first half and threw two TD passes, one each to Josh Callender and Cory Lakin. The scoring pass to Lakin with 57 seconds left in the third quarter enacted the PIAA Mercy Rule running clock.

Stimac completed 8 of 16 passes for 95 yards, but was also intercepted three times, twice by Dan Haines.

Markus LaVan led the Gremlins with 90 yards rushing on only eight carries.

Brookville’s only score came on Cayliff Worling’s 67-yard fumble recovery return off a botched Gremlins pitch play with 1:24 left in the game.
