CURWENSVILLE – Hunter Bardo’s 22-yard field goal in the second overtime lifted unbeaten Cameron County to a 23-20 win over previously unbeaten Curwensville Friday night at Curwensville.

The Red Raiders defense then made the field goal standup when they recovered a Jed Greslick fumble on fourth down-and-goal from the 1-yard line.

Cameron County (4-0 overall, 4-0 AML North) looked to be in complete control of the game leading 20-6 after a 5-yard Randy Schatz touchdown run early in the fourth quarter.

But Curwensville (3-1, 3-1 AML South) had the quick answer when Greslick returned the ensuing kickoff 77 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion got the Tide back within six at 20-14.

Curwensville then tied the game at 20 when David Kalgren hit Greslick with a 44-yard scoring pass latter in the quarter. The two-point conversion was no good leaving the game tied at 20.

In the first overtime, Curwensville went four-and-out on its possession, before Kalgren intercepted a third-down pass by Jason Blose on Cameron County’s possession.

Cameron County led 14-0 at halftime thanks to a pair of first-quarter touchdowns.

Baker got the scoring started when he returned a Kalgren interception 25 yards for a touchdown. Andy Lippert then scored on a 15-yard run.

Curwensville got within six when Nathan Russell returned a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter before Schatz’s score restored the two-touchdown lead for Cameron County.
