2008, edition of the Clearfield Progress CLEARFIELD – Behind a resurgence from running back Isiah Morgan and another solid performance from quarterback Jarrin Campman, Clearfield stunned state-ranked Tyrone 35-34 Friday night in Clearfield ending the Eagles 35-game regular-season win streak. Morgan, who fought injuries all last season after a sensational freshman campaign, had his best night since that sophomore season running 18 times for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Campman ran 19 times for 66 yards and a score and also was 9 of 13 passing for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Campman’s 17-yard scoring strike to younger brother Trey Campman with 6:59 left to play gave the Bisons (3-1 overall, 2-0 MAC-Nittany League) the lead for good, 35-32, in the see-saw affair. Tyrone, who was ranked fourth in the state in Class AA by the PA Football News, wasn’t quite down getting to within a point when Clearfield elected to take a safety instead of punting deep in its own territory with 3:39 left to play. The Eagles (3-1, 1-1) then got the ball at the Clearfield 42 following the free kick and moved to the Bisons 27. But the drive stalled, and Tyrone decided to try a 45-yard field goal from John Shaffer with less than two minutes to play. Shaffer’s kick, however, was not close. The game was a wild affair from the get-go with the teams combining to score 19 first quarter points and 39 first-half tallies before adding 30 more points in the second half. Tyrone led 12-7 at the end of the opening 12 minutes thanks to touchdown run from Larry Glace, who ran 21 times for 120 yards, and Mark Mingle. Clearfield’s score came on a 23-yard Morgan run. It was the Bisons turn to score twice in the second quarter, as Derek Danver caught a 34-yard pass from Campman, who also ran for an 8-yard score. Glace’s 50-yard touchdown run was sandwiched inbetween the two Clearfield scores leaving the Bisons ahead 21-18 at the break. Clearfield extended the lead to 28-18 in the third quarter when Morgan scored on a 16-yard run, but Tyrone score two touchdowns in a row with the latter coming on a 9-yard run by quarterback Levi Reihart to go up 32-28 early in the fourth quarter. Reihart was 8 of 11 passing for 209 yards and a touchdown pass while also running for the score for Tyrone. Trey Campman had six catches for 83 yards and the game-winning touchdown for Clearfield.
