A-C Valley breaks 46-game losing streak

FOXBURG – The losing streak is over.

Alex Ford rushed 16 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns to help A-C Valley break a 46-game losing streak with a 13-8 win over visiting Hancock (Md.) Saturday afternoon at A-C Valley.

The win is the first for A-C Valley since Oct. 7, 2005, when the Falcons beat Union 26-13 also at home.

Thanks to Ford, A-C Valley ran for 206 yards and had 260 yards as a team.

Kasey McNany added seven carries for 41 yards while going 5 of 13 passing for 54 yards and one interception. Ford caught two of those passes for 38 yards.

Meanwhile, the Falcon defense yielded its fewest points since Sept. 24, 2004, when it beat Conneaut Lake 47-6. Jimmy Holton (13 tackles, ˝ sack, fumble recovery), Robert Sibble (10 tackles, 2 ˝ sacks) and Lee Russell (8 tackles, 2 ˝ sacks) led the defensive effort.

A-C Valley improved to 1-6 with the win while Hancock drops to 3-5 with the loss.

NOTES – It was Ford’s second 100-yard game of the season. He rushed for 103 Sept. 17 in a loss to Redbank Valley
