BRADFORD 51, ERIE CENTRAL TECH 23

ERIE – Pat Pascarella rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns to lead Bradford to an easy 51-23 win at Erie Central Tech Saturday afternoon.

Pascarella, who has over 600 yards on the season through three games, scored on runs of 58, 53 and 14 yards. He helped the Owls (3-0 overall, 1-0 District 10 Region 6) 453 yards.

Mark Havers added 98 of those, while Zach Britton had 69 and Cody Coats 60 and two touchdowns.

Seth Pickens led Erie Central Tech (0-3, 0-1) with 110 yards rushing and three touchdowns on just eight carries.

DUBOIS 28, SLIPPERY ROCK 19

SLIPPERY ROCK – Shawn Newpher scored three touchdowns to lead DuBois to its first win of the season 28-19 at Slippery Rock Friday night.

Newpher, who rushed for 94 yards on 23 carries, scored on runs of 2 and 39 yards and also returned a kickoff 73 yards for a touchdown.

Slippery Rock led 19-14 at halftime, but DuBois took the lead for good on a 1-yard Sean Sleigh run midway through the third quarter. Newpher then added his 39-yard run midway through the fourth quarter to put the game away.

WILMINGTON 50, KARNS CITY 7

NEW WILMINGTON – Anthony Derrick and Sutton Whiting each scored two touchdowns, as Wilmington blew out visiting Karns City for the second straight season 50-7 Friday night.

Whiting ran for 113 yards and Derrick 34 yards combining to score on four of their 11 total carries – seven by Whiting.

Karns City (1-2) was down 43-0 before Dylan Hipple hit Luke Gordon with a 20-yard touchdown pass with 3:18 left in the game to avoid the shutout.

Karns City had just 127 yards of total offense.

CURWENSVILLE 35, PORT ALLEGANY 6

CURWENSVILLE — Alex Holland rushed for 204 yards on 26 carries and scored two touchdowns on runs of 30 and 22 yards to lead Curwensville to a 35-6 run over Port Allegany.

The Golden Tide (3-0) jumped out to a 28-0 first-half lead as Holland scored two of their first three touchdowns. Quarterback Hunter McCracken threw a 35-yard TD pass to Shane Hoover and ran one in himself from nine yards out.

Zach Dimmick scored the Tide’s only second-half score on a 13-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

Curwensville outgained Port Allegany (1-2), 358-158, and kept the Gators out of the end zone until time ran out as quarterback Matt Bodamer scored on a 1-yard run at the end of the game.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 28, ST. MARYS 7

ST. MARYS — Punxsutawney quarterback Logan Weaver threw for four touchdowns, including three in the Chucks’ 21-point second quarter, to lead the Chucks to a 28-7 win over St. Marys in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference-Large School division game.

Weaver completed 8 of 15 passes for 125 yards. His scoring strikes came on 11- and 20-yard passes to Zak Dickey and a 40-yard pass to Corban Cressley with 1:13 left in the first half. Weaver’s fourth and final scoring pass put the game away in the fourth quarter when he hit Ian Weaver with   a 11-yard TD pass with 2:12 remaining.

Cressley led the Chucks (3-0 overall, 1-0 KSAC-Large) with 59 yards rushing while Ben Blazavich finished with 57.

St. Marys (1-2, 0-2) scored its only touchdown in the first quarter when Justin Quiggle ran 58 yards. He led the Dutch with 84 yards on 12 carries. Kevin Hoy gained 36 yards on 14 attempts.

KEYSTONE  51, CLARION-LIMESTONE 6

STRATTANVILLE — Quarterback Mitchell Rearick ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead the Keystone Panthers to a 51-6 rout of Clarion-Limestone Friday night.

The Panthers (1-2 overall, 1-1 KSAC-Small) notched their first win of the year after building a 43-6 lead and invoking the PIAA Mercy Rule’s running clock following James Gillen’s 3-yard TD run at the end of the third quarter.

Rearick rushed for 84 yards on 12 carries and scored on runs of 5 and 44 yards and connected with B.J. Seyler on a 10-yard TD pass and Matt Hergenroeder on a 5-yard scoring strike. He completed 9 of 17 passes for 106 yards.

Keystone’s other touchdowns came on a 7-yard run by Colt O’Neil and a 12-yard run by Josh Eberhart in the fourth quarter.

C-L (1-2, 1-1) scored its only touchdown on Christian Bakewell’s 57-yard pass to Matt Wolbert in the third quarter. Bakewell completed 4 of 12 passes for 93 yards while Billy Kelley completed 8 of 16 throws for 117 yards. Wolbert caught two passes for 80 yards.

REDBANK VALLEY 20, A-C VALLEY 0

FOXBURG — Quarterback Brandon Bain threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Redbank Valley Bulldogs to a 20-0 shutout win over A-C Valley Friday night.

Bain tossed  a 26-yard TD pass to Kyle Lee in the first quarter and a 4-yard pass to Keaton Delp in the third quarter. Caleb Delp’s 1-yard run scored the other Bulldogs’ touchdown.

Alex Ford led A-C Valley with 103 yards rushing on 13 carries.

Redbank Valley improved to 3-0, 2-0 in the KSAC-Small School Division while A-C Valley dropped to 0-3 and 0-2.

CAMERON COUNTY 24, KANE 21

EMPORIUM — The Cameron County Red Raiders jumped out to a 17-0 lead and held off a Kane rally to earn their first win with a 24-21 win over the visiting Wolves Friday night.

Andrew Fragale scored three touchdowns on runs of 1, 1 and nine yards, the third one coming from nine yards out early in the fourth quarter to  put the Red Raiders (1-2) up 24-14. Kane got to within three points when quarterback Alex Anderson tossed a 10-yard TD pass to Bruce Waters, but couldn’t score again on one more possession.

Jason Blose led Cameron County with 121 yards on 27 carries and also threw for 73 more yards. Fragale finished with 56 yards on 13 carries. For Kane (1-2), Anderson completed 9 of 22 passes for 120 yards. He also threw a 20-yard TD pass to Even Depto. Dylan Eckstrom scored on a 3-yard run for Kane’s other touchdown.

The Red Raiders got a 22-yard field goal in the first quarter for the game’s first score.

JOHNSONBURG 31, OTTO-ELDRED 0

DUKE CENTER — Quarterback Andrew Nortum tossed two touchdown passes to Joe Holmberg as the Johnsonburg Rams blanked Otto-Eldred, 31-0, Friday night.

Nortum and Holmberg’s scoring plays covered 23 and 16 yards. The Rams also scored on Max Zimmerman’s 8-yard run, Mitchell Holmberg’s run and a defensive touchdown on a fumble recovery.

The Rams improved to 2-1 while Otto-Eldred fell to 0-3.

SHEFFIELD 26, RIDGWAY 0

SHEFFIELD — Quarterback Ike Nearing ran for two scores and passed for another to lead the Sheffield Wolverines to a 26-0 shutout of Ridgway Friday night.

Nearing scored on runs of 1 and 22 yards and threw a 40-yard TD pass to George Fitch. He completed 8 of 15 passes for 124 yards and ran for 71 yards on 13 carries. Kalil Slaughter, who rushed for 130 yards on 13 carries, also scored on a 26-yard run.

The Wolverines (1-2) outgained the Elkers (0-3), 353-107. Ridgway was also hit for 10 penalties for 110 yards compared to Sheffield’s nine for 90 yards.

CLEARFIELD 35, PENNS VALLEY 7

SPRING MILLS — The Clearfield Bisons piled up some big numbers and improved to 3-0 with a 35-7 win at Penns Valley Friday night.

The Bisons amassed 453 yards and held Penns Valley to just 59 yards of offense and three first downs compared to the Bisons’ 25 first downs.

Bisons quarterback Curtis Frye completed 16 of 22 passes for 191 yards, including two TD passes of 41 and 17 yards to Derek Danver. He caught six balls for 103 yards. Derek Morgan rushed for 119 yards on 15 carries and scored on a 10-yard run. Beau Swales scored on runs for 4 and 1 yards in the second half and finished with 81 yards on 12 carries.

Penns Valley’s only score came on Kevin Montminy’s 83-yard kick return in the third quarter.
