UNION HEAD COACH AL PRYOR PASSES AWAY

RIMERSBURG – Union head coach Al Pryor passed away Friday night/Saturday morning.

No further details are available at this time.

Pryor was in his second-year of his second stint as the Golden Knights head mentor. Last season, he guided a rebuilding team to a 2-7 record. Union was in the District 9 playoff race until the season’s final week. Pryor was in his seventh overall season with Union having led Union to a 15-39 overall record including the school’s last winning season (5-4) in 1997. His first stint as the head mentor of the Golden Knights was from 1996-2000.

Pryor did not coach Union’s 19-16 loss to Redbank Valley Friday night. Assistant coach Dave Louder was the acting head coach Friday night. There is no word on who will be the head coach the rest of the season. Union is scheduled to host Saegertown Friday night.
