BASEBALL

MONITEAU 9, REDBANK VALLEY 6

ALCOA, Pa. – Behind three extra-base hits, including a home run, from Hunter Fitzingo visiting Moniteau picked up a 9-6 win over Redbank Valley

Fitzingo was 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and the dinger while scoring twice and driving in two.

Also for the Warriors, Tyler McFadden went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs, Lee DeMatteis was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Gage Neal and JD Dessicino each scored twice.

Chance Nagy got the win going 5 ⅔ innings allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits and a walk while striking out seven. Branson Carson picked up the save recording the final two outs on two strikeouts needing just seven pitches. Redbank Valley had runners on second and third with just one out when Carson came into the game replacing Brady Thompson.

Nick Smith was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, a run scored and two RBIs for Redbank Valley. Blaney Brooks went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Bryson Bain was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Hudson Martz took the loss going 3 ⅔ innings giving up seven runs, all earned, on nine hits and three walks while striking out four.

CLARION 2, CLARION-LIMESTONE 1

CLARION, Pa. – Clarion scored two runs in the seventh inning to defeat Clarion-Limestone, 2-1.

Lake Staub 1-for-2 with a double and scored the winning run for the Bobcats on a stolen third base. Skyler Rhoades singled and added a run while Skyler Pastor doubled.

Colby Himes tallied the lone run for the Lions with Hayden Callen and Ian Larson chipping in for a pair of hits.

Rhoades started the game on the mound for Clarion throwing five strikeouts with four allowed hits in four innings. Chase Kriebel struck out seven batters in the final three innings.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 5, ST. MARYS 4

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Despite allowing three runs in the seventh, Punxsutawney answered with two runs of their own to earn 5-4 victory over St. Marys.

Alec Greenblatt went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI to lead the Chucks offense. Andrew Britten had a pair of hits and scored the winning run while Owen Smith added two runs. Adison Neal went 2-for-4 and drove in a run.

Jake Meeker paced the Dutch with two runs with Connor Bressler adding a run following a triple.

Greenblatt struck out four and gave up two hits in 6 ⅓ innings on the mound. Neal got the win for Punxsutawney pitching the last ⅔ innings.

Garrett Bauer struck out 10 but allowed seven hits in the loss for St. Marys.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 10, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 0, 5 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Using a seven-run fifth inning, visiting DuBois Central Catholic shutdown Elk County Catholic, 10-0, in five innings.

Tyler McIntosh led the Cardinals offense going 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs, while Brandon Walker had a double, a run scored and two RBIs and Noah Bloom went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Anthony Kness was also 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Peter Downer threw a five-inning two-hitter to get the win. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out one.

Hunter Cashmer had both hits for ECC, including a double. Cashmer took the loss giving up seven runs, five earned, on seven hits and four walks while striking out two in 4 ⅔ innings of work.

BROCKWAY 6, KARNS CITY 3

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Conner Ford had a pair of hits and drove in three scores to help Brockway earn a 6-3 victory over visiting Karns City.

Matthew Clark went 2-for-3 including a double and had a run scored for the Rovers while Dominic Inzana scored twice. Santino Inzana singled and chipped in for a run with Clayton Heckman and Nickelas Porrin each adding a run.

Tyler Yough homered and Ty Belles doubled with a run scored to pace the Gremlins. Steve O’Donnell had an RBI and Colton Hutchinson added a run.

Santino Inzana got the win for Brockway with six strikeouts and six allowed hits.

O’Donnell struck out six batters in the loss for Karns City.

BELLEFONTE 8, CLEARFIELD 0

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – CJ Funk had a pair of runs including a home run and drove in three scores to help Bellefonte shutout visiting Clearfield, 8-0.

Nick Capparelle had a pair of hits and a run while Seth Shuey doubled to lead the Red Raiders. Colton Burd singled and added a run with Bobby Marsh adding a run and an RBI.

Caullin Reed paced the Bison going 1-for-3. Nathan Barr, Hayden Williams, Hunter Hipps and Karson Rumsky each singled.

Ashton Wetzler threw a complete game shutout in the win for Bellefonte with nine strikeouts while giving up six hits and no runs.

Elijah Glass struck out five batters but allowed seven hits and eight runs in the loss for Clearfield.

COUDERSPORT 10, PORT ALLEGANY 1

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – A seven-run seventh inning helped visiting Coudersport defeat Port Allegany, 10-1.

AJ Redmond led the Falcons offense going 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Blake Burgett and Eli Ayers each had a pair of runs. Kolby VanWhy had a pair of hits and Jacob Pitcher went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.

Trey Ayers scored the lone run for the Gators with Howie Stuckey III going 2-for-3 including a double.

VanWhy struck out 14 batters and gave up three hits in the victory for Coudersport.

Josh Rees, Ty Guilds and Holden Lapp all saw time on the mound for Port Allegany and combined for three strikeouts.

BRADFORD 26, OSWAYO VALLEY 1, 3 INNINGS

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Behind the strength of 14-run third inning, visiting Bradford rolled to a 26-1, three-inning win over Oswayo Valley.

Peyton Manion and Patrick Caskey combined for nine RBIs in the win for the Owls.

Manion was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a walk, two runs scored and five RBIs with Caskey going 3-for-4 with a walk, four runs scored and four RBIs.

Caleb Nuzzo also drove in three runs while going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while Isaac Smith was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Jason French and Steve Knowlton added doubles for Bradford.

Colton Geitler scored Oswayo Valley’s lone run while going 1-for-2.

SMETHPORT 8, COWANESQUE VALLEY 7

WESTFIELD, Pa. – Nate Hallowell’s run in the seventh inning propelled Smethport over Cowanesque Valley, 8-7

Hallowell went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs to lead the Hubbers offense. Brandon Higley had two runs and two RBIs with Blake Kinner going 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Alex Ognen and Noah Lent each doubled and Noah Costa singled and drove a score in.

Seth Huyler paced Cowanesque with three runs and an RBI. Kurtis Easton had a pair of hits and scored both times. Owen Fitzwater went 2-for-3 and Kade Sottolano singled and drove in two scores.

Grant Ognen got the win for Smethport striking out three batters and allowing four hits in five innings on the mound.

Christian Kemp gave up five hits and five runs in the loss for Cowanesque Valley.

SOFTBALL

REDBANK VALLEY 10, MONITEAU 9

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Brynn Rearick and Brooke Holben combined for six runs to help Redbank Valley defeat visiting Moniteau, 10-9.

Holben had three hits, two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Rearick went 3-for-4 including a double and added three runs while Montana Hetrick went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs. Becca Kunselman had a pair of hits and two RBIs with Shylie Shreckengost and Elania Miller each chipping in for two RBIs.

Amanda Dailey doubled and tripled to pace the Lady Warriors. Breanne Noah had a pair of hits and two runs and Abby Rottman went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and two RBIs.

Hetrick got the win in the circle for Redbank Valley with two strikeouts while allowing 11 hits.

Andrea Eiler took the loss for Moniteau.

OTTO-ELDRED 10, GALETON 2

GALETON, Pa. – Otto-Eldred used a balanced offensive attack to defeat Galeton, 10-2 and remain unbeaten.

Haley Frederick went 2-for-4 with a double and triple to lead the Lady Terrors while Riley Raught doubled twice and drove in a score. Gabby Nickerson went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Abby Wolfe had a pair of RBIs.

Jesse Evans drove in a score on a triple to pace the Lady Tigers.

Wolfe struck out six and gave up six hits in the win for Otto-Eldred.

Reagan Fuller took the loss for Galeton with four strikeouts.

A-C VALLEY 19, UNION 8, 5 INNINGS

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Baylee Blauser hit a pair of home runs to help visiting A-C Valley to a 19-8 win over Union.

Blauser hit solo shots in the first and third innings, and the Lady Falcons hit five home runs in the game.

Also going deep for A-C Valley were Emily Wetzel (solo shot in the third), Kelsie Terwilliger (two-run home run in the third) and Sydnie Schmidt (solo home run in the third).

Schmidt, who was the winning pitcher (4 ⅓ innings, 2 runs, 2 BB, 3 HB, 1 K) was 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs and two runs scored. Wetzel added a triple while going 2-for-3, while Blauser was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Andrea Meals scored four times and had an RBI while going 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, Terwilliger drove in two and scored three times and Cami McNany was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

Kiera Zitzman hit a three-run homer for Union, while Sierra Salvo was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and Rylie Colligan added a run scored and an RBI while going 1-for-4 with a double.

CLARION 3, CLARION-LIMESTONE 0

CLARION, Pa. – Kait Constantino threw a complete game shutout to help Clarion defeat visiting Clarion-Limestone, 3-0.

Constantino struck out 12 batters and allowed four hits in the win for Clarion.

Constantino also led the Lady Cats offense going 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Noel Anthony doubled with Carly Best and Mackenzie Aaron each chipping in for a run.

Cassidy MaKray and Ali Girt each doubled to pace the Lady Lions.

MaKray struck out three and gave up six in the loss for Clarion-Limestone.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 12, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 0, 5 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Ashley Wruble and Morgan Tyler combined to throw a no-hitter in DuBois Centrals 12-0, five inning victory over visiting Elk County Catholic.

Shyanne Lundy went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI for the Lady Cardinals. Jordan Kosko tripled and had three runs while Chelsea Bussato went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs. Mia Meholick and Shayleigh Gulvas each had a pair of hits.

Wruble pitched the first three innings and struck out two batters to earn the victory for DCC. Tyler finished the game in the circle striking out four.

Michelle Gerber took the loss for ECC.

BRADFORD 15, OSWAYO VALLEY 7

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Bradford used a 10-run fourth inning to defeat Oswayo Valley, 15-7.

Emily Warner homered and drove in three runs to lead the Lady Owls offense. Mackenzie Maley went 4-for-5 with a run and three RBIs, Katie Work had a pair of hits and two runs and Alyssa Hardy went 2-for-4 and scored both times. Haleigh Reid went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI.

Macy West went 3-for-4 with two runs to pace the Lady Greenwaves. Karina Wet doubled and added a pair of runs with Kelsey Turk going 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Warner earned the victory for Bradford striking out eight while allowing nine hits and seven runs.

Karina West and Macy West combined for five strikeouts in the loss for Oswayo Valley.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 6, ST. MARYS 2

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Punxsutawney had a balanced offensive attack to earn a 6-2 victory over St. Marys.

Sarah Weaver led the Lady Chucks offense with a pair of runs. Kendal Johnston went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs while Riley Presloid doubled and drove in three runs.

Pete Schlimm homered to pace the Lady Dutch. Tessa Grotzinger and Britney Shaw each had a pair of hits and Anna Mattivi chipped in for a run.

Johnston got the win for Punxsutawney giving up seven hits and two runs while striking out nine.

Maura Fledderman struck out six while allowing four hits in the loss for St. Marys.
