A-C VALLEY 11, CLARION-LIMESTONE 1, 5 INNING; A-C VALLEY 14, CLARION-LIMESTONE 1, 5 INNINGS

PARKER, Pa. – Scoring 25 runs in two games, A-C Valley rolled to a doubleheader sweep of visiting Clarion-Limestone taking the first game 11-1 in five innings and the second one 14-1 also in five innings.

In the opener, Sydney Schmidt got the win going five innings and allowing one run on one hit and four walks.

Emily Wetzel paced the offense going 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Cam McNany added a 2-for-3 day with a day, a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Katie Stalker was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Kylie Eaton was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, a run scored and an RBI.

Wetzel continued her hot hitting in Game Two going 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored. McNany was 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored. Stalker was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, Eaton was 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double, two runs scored and three RBIs and Kelsie Terwilliger was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.

Wetzel got the win going three no-hit innings striking out five.

BROCKWAY 10, SHEFFIELD 0, 5 INNINGS; BROCKWAY 14, SHEFFIELD 0, 5 INNINGS

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Brockway rolled to a pair of Mercy Rule wins at Sheffield winning the first game 10-0 in five innings and the second 14-0 in five.

In the first contest, Anndi Bartlett had a triple and two RBIs, while Alyana Dowdall also triple, had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Savannah Terwilliger added a pair of his and three runs scored.

Alyana Dowdall got the win going five innings allowing one hit and two walks while striking out five.

In the second game, Kaitlyn Morelli was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, three runs scored and three RBIs. Morgan Uhl was also 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs and Kayla Dowdall had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored with Bartlett and Terwilliger each adding a pair of hits and a run scored.

Kayla Dowdall got the win going five innings and allowing three hits while striking out seven.

CRANBERRY 7, HICKORY 6

SENECA, Pa. – Natalie Barcinas went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run while also scoring twice to lift Cranberry to a 7-6 win over visiting Hickory.

Libby Kiefer added three hits, including two doubles, while Rachel McCauley was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Nicole Hutchinson also had a double and two RBIs.

Barcinas got the win going five innings in relief allowing three runs on three hits and six walks while striking out two.

CURWENSVILLE 2, HARMONY 1

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Clerissa Cole outpitched Tara Hauser, as Curwensville beat visiting Harmony, 2-1.

Cole went seven innings allowing one unearned run on five hits and a walk while striking out three.

Hauser gave up two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out one.

Camryn Richards and Lauren Tozer had RBIs for Curwensville with Tozer going 2-for-3.

Hauser was 2-for-3 for Harmony.

KARNS CITY 8, CLARION 2

CHICORA, Pa. – Behind a big day from Alyssa Stitt, Karns City topped visiting Clarion, 8-2.

Stitt was 3-for-4 with two triples, a double, a run scored and an RBI to pace a 12-hit Lady Gremlins attack.

Katie Neff added two hits, including a triple, while driving in two and scoring one.

Emma Clark was also 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs scored with Emily Wolfe added a pair of RBIs.

Cora Zerfoss had a pair of hits, an RBI and a run scored for Clarion with Kate Constantino adding a double.

Logan Byers got the win in relief going four innings allowing two hits and a walk while striking out five.

Sadie Rudesyle took the loss going five innings allowing seven runs, five earned, on nine hits and two walks while striking out six.

MONITEAU 16, FOREST AREA 0, 3 INNINGS

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Another day, another win for the Moniteau softball team thanks to a 16-0 shelling of visiting Forest Area in three innings.

The Lady Warriors needed just eight hits, including a home run from Megan Hepler and a double by Kristina DeMatteis, to get the win thanks in part to 10 walks.

Hepler was 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored and three RBIs, while Kristina DeMatteis was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Kennedy DeMatteis drove in five and went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored, Amanda Dailey had three RBIs, Gabby Stewart was 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored and Cortney Claypoole walked twice and scored three times.

Kennedy DeMatteis faced the minimum nine batters striking out six of them while not allowing a base runner.

OTTO-ELDRED 5, PORTVILLE (N.Y.) 3

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Alyssa Shelander allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four to help Otto-Eldred to a 5-3 win over visiting Portville (N.Y.)

Syd Colligan took the loss allowing five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two.
