Cranberry/Keystone Girls to Play 2A Consy Game Thursday

CLARION, Pa. – Cranberry athletic director Brad Earp announced Wednesday that he has been told by District 9 basketball chairman that the Cranberry vs. Keystone District 9 Class 2A girls’ consolation game will be played at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Clarion High School.

Keystone head coach Barry Foust confirmed that announcement, although District 9 hadn’t announced anything as of 10:20 p.m. Wednesday night.

The winner of the game moves into the PIAA playoffs and the loser’s season is over.

No other information on any of the other games had been announced as of 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, although it is believed that the Class 1A and Class 2A boys’ and girls’ championship games will be played at Clarion University’s Tippin Gym Saturday with the Brockway vs. Clarion boys’ 2A consolation game being played at Tippin Friday night. Those are all unofficial at this point.

The boys’ and girls’ Class 1A consolation games will also most likely be played Friday night in either Kane or Bradford, although again no official word had been released as of 10:20 p.m. Wednesday.
