Ridgway is (11-0) and was the unanimous No. 1 selection this week, while Coudersport (10-1) jumps up two spots to No. 2, Keystone (11-2) is up two spots to No. 3, Elk County Catholic (11-2) drops one spot to No. 4 and Bradford (7-5) moves up two spots from a seventh-place tie with Brookville (8-3), which now comes in at No. 6.
There are two new entries into this week’s ratings with Johnsonburg (7-4) coming in at No. 13 and Clearfield (7-6) at No. 14.
Three teams dropped out of the ratings: Brockway (No. 14 last week), Curwensville (tied for No. 15 last week) and DuBois Central Catholic (tie for No. 15 last week).
Power ratings are different from rankings in that a power rating the rating is based on a combination of current events and overall body of work, which means while previous performances and results are taken into consideration they are not the end all be all of how a team is performing in a particular week whereas a ranking is based on a team’s entire body of work. Because the rankings/power ratings are not used to determine playoff positions or seeings in District 9, we have decided to go to a power rating system to better reflect how a team is currently performing.
