ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 36, KANE 35

KANE, Pa. – Visiting Elk County Catholic survived a frantic final five seconds to hold off Kane, 36-35, in AML action.

Kane trailed by two, 36-34, with four seconds left when Ella Marconi drew a foul. Marconi missed the first free throw and tried to miss the second but it went in making it 36-35.

The Lady Wolves then forced a turnover with two seconds left and they tried an alley-oop play to Trinity Clark. Clark caught the ball cleanly on the left side of the hoop and had an open look only to have the ball roll off the rim and out.

Reilly Herzing led ECC with 13 points with Cassidy Cunningham adding 11.

Marconi had 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shot to pace Kane with Clark adding 11 points.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 65, TIDIOUTE CHARTER 32

TIDIOUTE, Pa. – Ending a 17-game losing streak and winning for the first time in just about a year, Clarion-Limestone won its first game of the year with a 65-32 non-league win over Tidioute Charter Monday night.

Maddy Craig scored 15 of her game-high 21 points in the first half while Morgan Clark finished with 10 points, eight coming in the fourth quarter. Ashley Dougherty scored nine points.

The Lady Lions, who gave first-year head coach Gus Simpson his first win, led 41-17 at halftime and cruised to their first win since a 50-34 win over Forest Area at home Jan. 26, 2016.

Hanna Dividi and Natasha Krause scored 11 and 10 points respectively for Tidioute.

CLEARFIELD 39, BELLEFONTE 34

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Using a balanced scoring effort between Ally Lindstrom, Alayna Ryan and Brooke Cline, Clearfield built a 10-point lead after three quarters and then held on for a 39-34 Mountain League road win over Bellefonte.

The Lady Bison led 29-19 going to the fourth quarter and then survived a barrage of three 3-pointers by the Lady Raiders, including two from Mallorie Smith.

Lindstrom led Clearfield with 13 points, Ryan added 12 and Cline eight.

Smith and Lauren Young each had 10 points for Bellefonte.

DUBOIS 55, BROCKWAY 31

BROCKWAY, Pa. – With Brockway double-teaming Ashley Hallowell, Chelsea DeSalve scored a season-high 24 points to lead visiting DuBois to a 55-31 win over Brockway.

Despite the double team, Hallowell finished with 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Laura Fatula chipped in eight points for the Lady Beavers.

Kaitlyn Morelli led Brockway with 11 points with Lead Lindemuth adding 10, all in the first half.

ST. MARYS 57, CAMERON COUNTY 53

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Rachelle Armanini and Kaylee Muccio teamed up to score 42 points to help visiting St. Marys to a 57-53 win over Cameron County.

Armanini had a team-high 23 points for the Lady Dutch with Muccio adding 19.

Madi Guisto led all scorers with 26 points for Cameron County. Madison Harrier added 10 for the Lady Raiders.

JOHNSONBURG 71, OTTO-ELDRED 50

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Visiting Johnsonburg had five players score in double digits in a 71-50 win over Otto-Eldred.

Amanda Williams and Emily Dillinger led the Ramettes with 13 points apiece, Skylar Sherry added 12 points and Nicole Myers and Cassidy King 11 each.

Otto-Eldred, without Allison Cousin (ankle injury) got 17 points from Camryn Thomas and 14 from Tiffany Bair.
