Ridgway (14-0) is the only unbeaten team in District 9, and the Elkers are followed by Coudersport (13-1), the only one-loss squad, at No. 2. Coudersport will travel to Ridgway for a big matchup in Class 2A Saturday.
Last week’s No. 5, Bradford (8-7) drops a spot into a sixth-place tie with Clearfield (10-6), who made the biggest jump this week up from No. 14.
One new team joins the ratings, as Otto-Eldred (9-5) moves in at No. 12 after a 3-0 week that included a win over Bradford. No one dropped out, as a tie for No. 15 has occurred between Karns City (11-5) and DuBois 8-7). The Gremlins were tied for 11th last week with Cameron County (12-2), who remains 11th, while DuBois was 15th.
Power ratings are different from rankings in that a power rating the rating is based on a combination of current events and overall body of work, which means while previous performances and results are taken into consideration they are not the end all be all of how a team is performing in a particular week whereas a ranking is based on a team’s entire body of work. Because the rankings/power ratings are not used to determine playoff positions or seeings in District 9, we have decided to go to a power rating system to better reflect how a team is currently performing.
