Karns City, Punxsutawney Advance to D9 2A Boys’ Soccer Title Game

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Nate Rondinelli scored six times and added a pair of assists to lead Karns City to an 11-2 win over Kane in the District 9 Class 2A boys’ semifinals Tuesday at Varischetti Field in Brockway.

Dakota King added a pair of goals for the Gremlins including his 100th career goal, while Owen Collwell scored once and assisted on three other goals.

Kaden Schrerer and Sean Jones also found the back of the net for Karns City

Aiden Zampogna scored both goals for Kane.

Karns City will face Punxsutawney in the title game at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Varischetti Field. The Chucks beat Port Allegany, 4-1.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 4, PORT ALLEGANY 1

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Vincent Gigliotti scored two of his three goals after halftime to help break a 1-all tie at the break, as Punxsutawney topped Port Allegany, 4-1, in the District 9 Class 2A semifinals Tuesday at Varischetti Field in Brockway.

Gigliotti netted what turned out to be the game-winning goal early in the 66th minute breaking the one-all tie and then added another goal just under a minute-and-a-half later to complete the hat trick and give the Chucks a 3-1 lead.

Zach Reitz finished off the scoring with a late goal.

Howie Stuckey started the scoring for Port Allegany netting his 31st goal of the season late in the 17th minute before Gigliotti tied the game in the 25th minute.

Punxsutawney will take on Karns City in the title game at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Varischetti Field. The Gremlins beat Kane, 9-2.
