Player Profile: Caden Rainey, Union

CADEN RAINEY – SOPHOMORES – UNION

Son/Daughter of: Joe Rainey and Brandy Gallaher.
Sports Played: Football (with Union/A-C Valley co-op) and basketball
Family Members Playing/Played: Brother Cole Morris, both parents and Dugan Gallaher all participated in sports.
2018-19 Highlights: He ran for 237 yards and four touchdowns and caught 11 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown on offense and made 48 tackles with three interceptions to help Union to the District 9 Class 1A playoffs … In basketball, he averaged a team-high 13.3 points per game as a freshman.
Post-High School Plans: He wants to attend college but unsure what to major in.

Q&A With Caden Rainey

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
CR: Football because I’ve made a lot of new friendships over the years and it’s just a fun sport all around.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
CR: Making playoffs last year and playing Smethport it was a very muddy game.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
CR: To stay active and have fun with friends.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
CR: My Brother Cole. He has pushed me a lot, even when I was little we would play anything in the living room to teach me something.

D9Sports: If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be and why?
CR: Private schools and public schools shouldn’t play each other.

D9Sports: If you could be president for a day, what would be the one major thing you would do?
CR: Meet with a lot of famous people.

D9Sports: What is your ideal place to live? County, City, Suburb? Why?
CR: Country. I’ve just lived in the country my whole life.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
CR: I like to help my dad with work.

D9Sports: What is your strongest subject in school?
CR: Math just comes easier than other subjects.

D9Sports: If there was one period in history or one event in history you could go back to, what would it be?
CR: 1500s to see what it was like without technology.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
CR: What do i do in my free time. The answer would be to hang with friends and family.
