Player Profile: Cole LaBenne, Brookville

COLE LABENNE – JUNIOR – BROOKVILLE

Son of: Robert LaBenne and Jill Zents
Sports Played: Football, Wrestling, Baseball
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: His dad and uncles played at DuBois. His brother, Tanner, plays for Brookville
2017-18 Highlights: In football, he helped Brookville return to the District 9 Class 2A playoffs by making 18 tackles with a sack. In wrestling, he helped Brookville to District 9 dual meet and championship titles and also qualified for the Regional tournament by taking fourth place at 160 pounds at the District 9 Championships. In baseball, he helped Brookville to the District 9 Class 2A semifinals by hitting .259 with two doubles, six RBIs and five runs scored.
Post-High School Plans: He wants to attend the University of Arizona for animal science and animal medicine to become an animal breeder.

Q&A With Cole LaBenne

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
CL: Football is my favorite because I love the feeling of everyone looking down from the bleachers on you.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
CL: My favorite moment in high school sports is wrestling at team states because I love the adrenaline and being able to be on one of the best teams in the state.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
CL: I play high school sports because I’m very competitive and I love winning.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
CL: Bo Jackson because he showed me you can be great at everything.

D9Sports: Do you remember the first sport you played and did you like it right away or did it grow on you?
CL: I think baseball was the first sport and I like it right away.

D9Sports: Do you have a favorite number for a uniform? If so, what is the story behind that number?
CL: 42 and 34 because Jackie Robinson and Mariano Rivera wore 42 and are both all-time greats, and 34 for the greatest athlete ever Bo Jackson, he was good at everything.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
CL: I collect shoes.

D9Sports: If you could eat dinner with anyone famous (living or dead) who would it be and why?
CL: Kylie Jenner because she’s gorgeous.

D9Sports: Iphone or Android or Neither and why?
CL: iPhone no explanation needed.

D9Sports: What is your go-to Social Media and why?
CL: Twitter because I love reading the arguments.

D9Sports: What do you like most about high school and why?
CL: Just being with the boys.

D9Sports: What do you like least about high school and why?
CL: English class.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
CL: What’s your favorite TV show? Answer: South Park because it’s hilarious.
