Player Profile: Mia Sherman, A-C Valley

MIA SHERMAN – JUNIOR – A-C VALLEY strong>

Daughter of: Dave and Lori Sherman. Dad coaches girls’ basketball and track & field at A-C Valley
Sports Played: Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: Her sister, Allison, played golf, basketball and track, and her dad played football basketball and track.
2018-19 Highlights: Helped the A-C Valley volleyball team to the District 9 Class 1A semifinals … Also, after recovering from an injury suffered in the volleyball semifinals, saw action in nine varsity games, including three postseason basketball games, for the Lady Falcons who finished second in District 9 Class 2A and advanced to the PIAA Quarterfinals for the first time in school history.
Post-High School Plans: She plans to attend college and would consider playing a sport in college if given the opportunity.

Q&A With Mia Sherman

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
MS: My favorite sport is volleyball because no matter what the team is always so excited when someone gets a good hit/makes a good play.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
MS: My favorite memory is going to volleyball camps with my team and my favorite game is in basketball when we beat OLSH.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
MS: I play high school sports because of all the new friendships and because I love to be involved in our small school.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
MS: My dad has had the most influence on my athletic career because no matter the sport he always makes sure I’m putting in extra work and improving bc he wants to see me do well.

D9Sports: If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be and why?
MS: I would change having summer league because going to games all the time is not what I like to do with my summer.

D9Sports: If you could be president for a day, what would be the one major thing you would do?
MS: If I was president for a day I would meet as many famous people as I could.

D9Sports: What is your ideal place to live? County, City, Suburb? Why?
MS: I would love to live either in Foxburg or anywhere close to home because I like being in a small community.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
MS: Someone who didn’t know me would be surprised to know that I like to bake.

D9Sports: What is your strongest subject in school?
MS: My best subjects in school are Science and History.

D9Sports: If there was one period in history or one event in history you could go back to, what would it be?
MS: I would go back to the 80s/90s so I can use the first technology.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
MS: I wish you would’ve asked what I like to do when I’m not playing sports. The answer would be I like to adventure with friends and make new memories.
