SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. – Ridgway started the season with a lot of question marks following a pair of District 9 Class 1A titles.
The Elkers needed to replace nearly a full complement of starters, and the squad was moving up to Class 2A.
But so far, so good, as Ridgway is 3-0, and that start has seen the Elkers make the biggest jump in the Sept. 11, 2018, Allegheny Grille of Foxburg D9Sports.com Football Rankings moving up three spots this week from No. 7 to No. 4.
Three 3-0 teams are ahead of Ridgway and remain in their respective positions from a week ago with Clearfield checking in at No. 1, Clarion at No. 2 and Brockway at No. 3. Bradford (2-1) remains at No. 5 to round out the Top 5.
The second half the Top 10 sees Redbank Valley (3-0) remain at No. 6, Coudersport (3-0) move up from No. 9 to No. 7, Smethport (3-0) join the rankings at No. 8 with Clarion-Limestone (2-1) joining at No. 9. Karns City (1-2) with close losses to Brockway and Clarion falls from No. 8 to No. 10.
