REVLOC – Fifteen District 9 football players have been
honored by the Pennsylvania Football News (PFN) by being placed on the
newspapers All-State teams, which are broken down by classification.
Class A had the biggest representation of District 9 athletes with eight including three first teamers, while Class AA had three selections and Class AAA had four selections. Keystone and Karns City shared the highest number of District 9 players selected to the PFN teams each having three representatives. In Class A, Clarion’s Kyle Cathcart was chosen as a first-team offensive athlete, Keystone’s Adam Black was chosen as a first-team quarterback and Curwensville’s Cory Bailor was chosen as a first-team offensive lineman. On the second-team offense in Class A were Keystone wide receiver Bobby Telesz, Clarion-Limestone offensive lineman Jordan Johnston and C-L place kicker Rocky Davis. Keystone’s Levi Mohney and Ridgway’s Jon Fleming were the lone District 9 selection on the Class A defense earning third-team honors as a defensive lineman and punter respectively. All three of the Class AA recipients were from Karns City including senior running back Billy Graham on the third-team offense, senior defensive back Brian Hilderbrand on the second-team defense and senior linebacker Brian Saylor on the third-team defense. In Class AAA, Bradford’s Mike Fair earned second-team offensive honors as a tight end, while teammate Ken Ciolek earned third-team offensive honors as a place kicker. Clearfield’s Dave Richards earned third-team offensive honors as an athlete, while Punxsutawney’s Kory Blose earned third-team defensive honors as a linebacker. PFN is a weekly newspaper that is published each week throughout the football season by Tom Elling and Rich Vetock. There is also a preseason edition to the paper and a post-season wrap-up edition. The paper covers all of the districts playing football in Pennsylvania as well as the Philadelphia league. The paper also covers PSAC football including Clarion, IUP, Lock Haven and Slippery Rock.
