SHEFFIELD – Nik Obenrader of Sheffield is the first
D9Sports.com District 9 Football Player of the Week for the 2001 season
after his opening week performance against Kane Saturday, Sept. 1.
Obenrader helped lead Sheffield to a 40-34 win over
Kane by going 7-for-13 passing for 269 yards and four touchdowns. He was
also directly responsible for another Sheffield touchdown on a run meaning
he was involved in five of Sheffield’s six scores.
For his efforts, Obenrader will receive a certificate
from D9Sports.Com.
Although Sheffield is a District 10 school, it plays a
schedule in District 9 therefore making Obenrader eligible for
D9Sports.Com awards
Fourteen other players playing in District 9 leagues
are also being honored this week as honorable mention recipients. Their
names appear below.
