CLARION – Clarion’s Kyle Cathcart is the D9Sports.com District 9 Football Player of the Week for the Eighth Week of the 2001 season. Cathcart, who earned the award for the third time this season, rushed for 327 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries in Clarion’s 42-6 win over A-C Valley Friday night. In the game Cathcart became just the second known back in District 9 history to eclipse the 4,000 yards rushing mark in a career. He now has 4,194 yards rushing. Brockway’s Aaron Cantafio had 4,694 yards in a career that ended last season. Cathcart was also Player of the Week in weeks Two and Three. He has helped the Bobcats to a 6-2 record this season. Fourteen other players playing in District 9 leagues are also being honored this week as honorable mention recipients. Their names appear below.
