CLARION – With his 339 yards rushing Friday night against Redbank Valley, Clarion’s Kyle Cathcart joined the 3,000-yard rushing club. Cathcart, a senior, now has 3,125 yards rushing in his career.

With 875 yards more of rushing this season or an average of 125 yards per game in Clarion’s final seven regular season game (the number per game would go down if Clarion’s qualifies for the playoffs), Cathcart can become only the second known running back in District 9 history to go over 4,000 yards in a career. The other back is Brockway’s Aaron Cantafio who rushed for 4,693 yards in his career, which ended last season.

Cathcart is also a standout in wrestling having won two straight PIAA titles and three straight District 9 titles. He currently has 72-match win streak and a career record of 97-4.
