ERIE – One more team that plays a regular season schedule in a District 9 League is playing for a district title this weekend. But it is a District 10 title that Eisenhower will compete for.

The Knights, who are a District 10 team that plays in the AML North, will take on West Middlesex at 1 p.m. Saturday at Erie’s Veterans Stadium in the District 10 Class A championship game.

The Knights (7-3) made it to the finals with an 8-0 win over Saegertown last week, while West Middlesex (8-2) beat Cambridge Springs 7-6.

Eisenhower is on a three-game winning streak, and the Knights like to play low-scoring football games. Eisenhower is averaging 18.5 ppg while allowing 11.6 ppg.

The Knights have a well-balanced offense that has thrown for 1,246 yards in 2002 and rushed for 1,132 yards.

Quarterback Jacoby Curtis leads the way. He has completed 66-of-144 passes for 1,116 yards and 11 touchdowns while throwing 12 interceptions. He has also ran the ball 89 times for 182 yards and a score.

Curtis spreads the football around with five players having nine or more catches this season.

Bart Moon and Ryan Irwin are the main targets with 16 catches each. Moon has 369 yards receiving and three touchdowns, while Irwin has 279 yards receiving and three scores.

Eric Sirianni has 11 grabs for 177 yards, Collin McHenry has nine for 156 yards and two touchdowns and Tyler Cathcart has nine catches for 142 yards and a score.

On the ground Sirianni leads the way with 345 yards and three touchdowns on 79 carries. Mark Collins has 45 totes for 270 yards and a score, and Moon has 41 carries for 223 yards and two touchdowns.

West Middlesex started the season 3-0 then loss two straight games but has since won five in a row.

The Big Red are averaging 20.6 ppg while allowing 12.4 ppg.

Senior running back Dan Michalcak leads the way. Going into last week’s semifinal game he had 458 yards rushing and six touchdowns.

Complementing Michalcak was junior running back Josh Fette who had 375 yards and seven touchdowns going into last week’s game.

Senior quarterback Jake Buzard had completed 54-of-99 passes for 780 yards and four scores heading into the Cambridge Springs game, while junior Giani Ruffo had 16 catches for 264 yards and two touchdowns.
