BRADFORD — DuBois did its best to bottle up the Bradford running attack, but it wasn't enough to beat the Owls.

Shawn Colligan rushed for 107 yards on 11 carries, scored touchdowns on runs of 73 and 6 yards, and made two interceptions on defense to lead the Owls to a 21-10 win over a stubborn DuBois team.

Bradford (3-4 overall, 3-2 District 9 League) trailed 10-7 at intermission. The Owls managed only one first down in the first half, that coming on Colligan's 73-yarder.

But the Owls scored on their opening possession of the second half and led the rest of the way, sending DuBois (0-7, 0-4) to its 11^th straight loss dating back to last season. The Beavers' last win came against Bradford.

DuBois grabbed a 3-0 lead on sophomore Evan Greene's 35-yard field goal. Greene was filling in for a sick Mark Guthridge, the team's starting kicker.

Colligan's big run gave Bradford a 7-3 advantage before DuBois scored on its next possession, quarterback Joe Wanson's 2-yard TD run with under two minutes to go in the half.

That would be all the Beavers could manage on the scoreboard the rest of the way, although DuBois did outgain Bradford, 276-236. All of the Owls' yards came on the ground. Quarterback Jake Long attempted just one pass, which fell incomplete.

Bradford secured the game late when Sean Hvizdzak scored on a 10-yard run with under four minutes to go in regulation.

Vance Newell rushed for 82 yards on 17 carries to lead the Beavers. Newell's total was the highest individual effort of the season for DuBois.
