RIMERSBURG – Clarion-Limestone used four straight early Union turnovers to score four straight touchdowns on its way to a 54-6 win Friday night at Union.

With the win the Lions (7-0 overall, 6-0 KSAC) increased their regular-season win streak to 24 games.

C-L struck first when Tuffy Brooks intercepted an Adam Milanovich pass giving the Lions good field position deep inside Union territory.

A couple of plays later, Brooks scored the Lions first touchdown on a 13-yarde run with 6:55 left in the opening quarter,

The Lions struck again on defense deep inside Union territory when Davey Eggleton recovered a fumble at the Union 23-yard line. Four plays later Brendan Huwar powered his way in from four yards out to give the Lions a 14-0 lead.

It didn’t take the Lions that long to strike again when Nate Tote intercepted the the next pass thrown by Milanovich giving the Lions the ball at the Union 38.

Four plays later Hayden Johnston hit Brad Beggs on an 8-yard pass route to give the Lions a 21-0 first quarter lead.

Brad Beggs intercepted another Milanovich pass with 1:07 left to end the first quarter setting up the Lions next touchdown which came six seconds into the second quarter on a 5-yard run by Huwar making the score 27-0.

C-L rounded out its quarter scoring when Johnston hit Tyrone Pinson on an 11-yard slant route giving C-L a 33-0 lead with 7:18 left.

Union got on the board in the second when Korey Hawk broke through the C-L defense and ran 19 yards for a touchdown with 5:20 left in the first half.

In the second half, Huwar answered on runs from four and two yards out, while C-L added a safety and a 55-yard free kick return by Erik White to round out the scoring.

Huwar led C-L with 126 yds rushing on 19 carries, while Johnston was 8 of 13 passing for 112 yds passing and two touchdowns.

Notes: C-L outgained Union 388-94 in total yards of offense…C-L was also penalized 14 times for 159 yards.
