Breese was 12-for-29 for 202 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for Otto-Eldred.

BELLEFONTE 20, BRADFORD 7

BELLEFONTE – In what might be the upset of the year, one-win Bellefonte stunned unbeaten Bradford 20-7 Friday night at Bellefonte.

The Red Raiders (2-6) opened a 12-0 halftime lead and held Bradford’s powerful running game basically in check. The Owls (7-1) gained 188 yards rushing but had entered the game averaging a District 9 leading 317.1 yards per game.

It wasn’t just the Bellefonte defense that came to play, the Red Raider offense also used a couple of long drive to put Bradford in the halftime hole.

The Red Raiders went 74 yards on their first possession scoring on an 8-yard pass from Josh Mundy to Nate Carson after gaining the first 65 yards on the drive on the ground including 6- yards on seven carries from Josh Jones .

Bellefonte’s second touchdown came on a 12-play, 62-yard drive that was capped by a 5-yard Mundy to Carson pass. Jones, who ran for a game-high 116 yards on 32 carries, had 29 yards on the drive, while Mundy had a 36-yard run and a 23-yard pass.

Bradford got right back into the game in the second half scoring on a 35-yard run by Aaron O’Toole to cut Bellefonte’s lead to 12-7.

Bellefonte looked like it was going to put the game away on its next drive, but a this time a pass into the end zone was intercepted by Sean Hvizdzak with 6:31 left in the game.

But 80 yards is a long way to go for a team that doesn’t pass the ball, and a Mike Austin pass was picked off by Bill Waugh at the Bradford 27 and returned for the game-clinching touchdown.

Hvizdzak led the Bradford ground game with 14 carries for 101 yards, while O’Toole had 11 for 70 yards. Austin was 6-for-11 passing for 72 yards but he threw three interceptions.

PORT ALLEGANY – Port Allegany built a 35-6 halftime lead on its way to a 55-18 win over Youngsville in an AML North contest Saturday afternoon at Youngsville.

Claude Haskins scored three times and set the school's single-season rushing record to lead the Gators (7-1 overall, 7-1 AML North), who had already secured a playoff berth Friday night thanks to Redbank Valley’s loss to Clarion-Limestone. With the win, the Gators should also have secured the No. 3 seed in the District 9 Class A playoffs and should play either at Coudersport or Clarion-Limestone in the first round of the playoff in two weeks. If C-L wins next week, then the Gators will get a rematch with Coudersport, who handed Port Allegany its only loss 21-14 Sept. 20.

Haskins, who rushed for 130 yards, scored on runs of 3 and 30 yards and on a 34-yard pass from Willie Bova. He now has 1,227 yards on the season eclipsing the previous Port Allegany record of 1,177 set by Barry Bova 25 years ago.

DuBois actually led 7-0 53 seconds into the game when Rob Hanzely scored on a 64-yard run, but an 18-yard run by Jamail Jackson, who led all rushers with 13 carries for 156 yards, got the Oilers to within a score. The game remained 7-6 until there was 8:19 left to play when Shawn Sopic scored on a 27-yard run to give Curwensville a 12-7 lead.
