ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 27, KANE 6

ST. MARYS – Anthony Tettis ran for 63 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries to lead Elk County Catholic to a 27-6 win over visiting Kane Saturday night in AML South action.

The Crusaders (2-0 overall, 2-0 AML South) have already exceeded last year’s win total two games into this season and have started a season 2-0 for the first time since 1998, which was the last time ECC made the District 9 playoffs.

ECC’s defense completely shut down the Kane offense limiting the Wolves to just 145 yards on the night, and 76 of those came on a 76-yard touchdown run by Kyle Oakes on the last play of the game against the Crusader reserves. Before the run, Kane (0-2, 0-2) had just 69 yards of offense on the night. The ECC defense picked off Kane quarterbacks three times in the game.
