KEYSTONE'S REED REPORTEDLY RESIGNING AS FOOTBALL COACH

KNOX – D9Sports.com has learned from sources both inside and outside the Keystone School District that head football coach Dan Reed has resigned because of personal reasons. A replacement has yet to be named but the school is hopeful to have one before the start of fall practice Aug. 16.

Reed guided the Panthers to a 4-5 overall and 3-5 KSAC record last season. His 1997 squad qualified for the District 9 playoffs losing to Smethport in the opening round.

Best know for his passing offenses, two of Reed’s quarterbacks – Tom Pore and Adam Black – were recruited and signed with NCAA Division I programs to play quarterback. Pore played a year at Miami (Ohio) before transferring to Clarion University where he changed positions and was a starter on both defense (linebacker and defensive line) and offense (tight end) at various points during his three years for the Golden Eagles. Black is currently at Marshall.

More information will follow as it becomes available.
