14 additional players on Honor Roll

SHIPPENVILLE – Redbank Valley’s Skyler Smith and St. Marys’ Brian Tamburlin are the D9Sports.com District 9 Co-Football Players of the Week for Week 8 of the 2005 season.

It is the first time this season there has been Co-Players of the Week.

Both running backs had tremendous games in District 9 playoff-clinching victories for their teams.

Smith carried the ball 17 times for 289 yards and three touchdowns in Redbank Valley’s 38-14 win at home over Moniteau Friday that secured a Class AA berth for the Bulldogs.

Tamburlin was nearly as good rushing 19 times for 191 yards and three touchdowns in the Dutchmen’s 40-22 win at home over Clearfield that is believed to have clinched a Class AAA spot for St. Marys, the team’s first-ever playoff berth.

Fourteen additional players join Smith and Tamburlin on the District 9 Honor Roll this week.
