SHIPPENVILLE – Port Allegany’s Bobby Nichols is the final D9Sports.com District 9 Football Player of the Week for the 2005 season.

Nichols had a magnificent Week 9 for the Gators (7-2) scoring five touchdowns while rushing for over 250 yards. His final line included 29 carries for 271 yards and four touchdowns and one catch for six yards and a score in Port’s 41-38 shoot-out win at Elk County Catholic.

Nichols had strong competition this week from a number of players including Coudersport’s Boomer Wetzel (169 yards passing, 3 TDs), Clarion-Limestone’s Scott Davis (208 yards passing, 2 touchdowns, 94 yards rushing, 2 touchdowns), Johnsonburg’s Jesse Dennis (3 interception on defense, 1 rushing touchdown) and Smethport’s Vince Kinniburgh (175 yards rushing 2 touchdowns, 63 yards passing).

Wetzel, Davis, Dennis and Kinniburgh join 11 additional players in making up the District 9 Honor Roll this week.
