BROOKVILLE – The DuBois offensive juggernaut continued as the Beavers rolled to a 41-14 win over Brookville in District 9 League action Friday night.

Mark Malacarne scored four touchdowns, including all three of the Beavers’ second-half scores, rushed for 208 yards and caught four passes for 54 yards receiving to lead a 428-yard effort by the DuBois offense. DuBois improved to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in the D-9 League.

After Brookville (1-2, 0-2) rallied to within 21-14 in the third quarter, DuBois scored three unanswered touchdowns, all from Malacarne. He caught a 26-yard TD pass from quarterback Ryan Liddle at the 5:49 mark of the third quarter and then blasted 74 yards for a score with 58 seconds left in the third. He closed the scoring with a 7-yard run with 7:09 left in the fourth.

Liddle put together another effective night, completing 9 of 12 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown and interception. He scored the Beavers’ first touchdown on a 3-yard run in the first quarter.

Malacarne’s running mate, senior Robbie Hanzely, left the game with an ankle injury in the third quarter, but not before he rushed for 66 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown run of 2 yards. According to head coach Jason Shilala, Hanzely could miss a couple of weeks, which would include big road games at Hollidaysburg and McDowell.

DuBois jumped out to a 21-0 advantage by the 4:03 mark of the second quarter on Liddle’s TD run, Hanzely's run and Malacarne's first TD of the game, the 31-yarder that came one play after the Raiders tried a fake punt.

But Brookville made some noise late in the first half, scoring with no time on the clock on quarterback Korey Brownlee’s 7-yard pass to Allen Bowen.

The Raiders took the second-half kickoff 51 yards to the end zone, scoring on Travis Diener’s 1-yard run with 9:40 left in the third quarter.

But the Raiders’ momentum quickly ended when DuBois went 59 yards on the next drive to score on Malacarne’s 26-yard scoring reception from Liddle. After the Beavers stopped the Raiders on downs at the Beavers’ 10, DuBois marched 90 yards to score on Malacarne’s 74-yarder.

Brookville heads to St. Marys next Friday while DuBois travels to Hollidaysburg.
