SMETHPORT – Smethport used a strong defense to give the offense great field position in a 35-17 homecoming win over Otto-Eldred Friday night in Smethport.

The Hubbers (2-3 overall, 2-3 AML North) limited Otto-Eldred to just 102 yards rushing and 259 total, while the Smethport offense rolled up 381 yards of offense including 290 on the ground.

Josh Switzer had a monster game for Smethport rushing 19 times for 134 yards and four touchdowns scoring on runs of 27, 5, 27 and 5 yards. Quarterback Vince Kinniburg, meanwhile, was 3-for-7 passing for 91 yards and a touchdown while throwing two interceptions. The scoring pass was 45-yard toss to Chris Fitzsimmons.

Travis Bair (11-for-32, 157 yards, 2 TD’s, 2 Ints) threw touchdowns passes of five and 17 yards while adding a 25-yard field goal to led Otto-Eldred (2-3, 2-3). Chad Bova and Eric Freer grabbed the scoring passes.

Smethport led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter and 21-3 at halftime.
