EISENHOWER 44, SHEFFIELD 12

WARREN – Jameson Curtis ran 21 times for 176 yards and two touchdowns, and David Hoisington passed for 80 and two scores to lead Eisenhower to a 44-12 win over Sheffield in the season finale for both teams Friday night at Warren’s War Memorial Stadium.

Eisenhower built a 30-6 halftime lead and never looked back.

Jordan Copley was 8-for-22 passing for 133 yards and two touchdowns for Sheffield (0-10) but he threw four interceptions. Jason Borst caught six of the passes for 117 yards and both scores (14 yards, 10 yards).

BRADFORD 55, WARREN 41

BRADFORD – Josh Holleran and Nick Johnson combined to run for 231 yards and six touchdowns to lead Bradford to a 55-41 upset District 10 playoff-bound Warren Friday night in Bradford.

Holleran ran for 122 yards and three scores, while Johnson added 109 and three touchdowns, as Bradford scored on eight of its nine possessions while never punting in what is the highest-scoring game in Owls history.

The 96 combined points are the most in a game involving a District 9 team since Clearfield and Huntingdon combined to score 102 in a 68-34 Huntingdon win in the opening round of the 1998 PIAA Class AAA playoffs.

How high scoring was the game? Let’s just put it this way: the Owls basketball team failed to score 55 points in a game eight times last season on its way to an 18-6 record.

Ben Walter added 132 yards passing thanks to a 9 of 13 performance while also running for a touchdown, as Bradford (3-6) gained 470 yards on the night.

The game was back-and-forth all night with Bradford not taking the lead for good until under the 4-minute mark of the fourth quarter on a 10-yard Johnson run. Coupled with the Steve Butler extra point it gave the Owls a 48-41 lead. Bradford then added a 52-yard Walter run with 2:02 to play to put the game away.

Warren’s offense was nearly as good as Bradford’s. The Dragons (4-6) scored on six of its 10 possession punting just twice while having the half and the game end when they had the ball.

Ben Paul threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more to lead Warren.

Bradford led 21-13 at halftime thanks to a 33-yard first-quarter run by Holleran and touchdowns runs of 2 yards by Garrett McEwen and 3 yards by Holleran in the second quarter.

Warren scored in the first quarter on a 17-yard pass from Paul to Kenny Feaster and a 5-yard Paul run.

The Dragons tied the game early in the second half on a 5-yard interception return by Chris Guiffre, but Bradford took the lead on a 1-yard Johnson run midway through the quarter.

A 13-yard pass from Paul to Nathan Bovard got Warren back to within a point, 28-27, late in the third quarter before Bradford took a 34-27 lead into the fourth when Johnson scored on a 58-yard run as time expired in the third.

Warren came right back tying the game at 34 on a 2-yard Paul run with 8:34 to play.

Like a boxer in a slugfest, the Owls hit right back with a 4-yard Holleran run with 5:27 to play making it 41-34.

Warren wouldn't go away needing 57 seconds to tie the game on a 78-yard pass from Paul to Cole Boje and a Josh McCaslin extra point at 4:30.

Bradford’s defense finally forced another punt – Warren had punted on its first drive of the game – following Johnson’s third touchdown to seal the win.

BALD EAGLE AREA 41, PUNXSUTAWNEY 6

PUNXSUTAWNEY – Bald Eagle Area (2-8) raced out to a 36-6 halftime lead on its way to a 41-6 win at Punxsutawney Friday night in the season finale for both teams.

Dubensky was 9 of 27 passing for 109 yards and a touchdown, while running nine times for 70 yards. Pisano had three catches for 61 yards.

Brian Kochik led Bald Eagle Area with 13 carries for 113 yards and one touchdown. Angel Resto added nine totes for 88 yards and a score while Sowash had seven for 40 and a touchdown and two catches for 81 and two scores. Connor McGee added four catches for 71 yards and a touchdown. Sowash also had an interception.
