DISTRICT 9 WELL REPRESENTED ON PA FOOTBALL NEWS ALL-STATE TEAMS

District 9 is well represented on the 2005 edition of the Pennsylvania Football News All-State Teams.

In all 27 District 9 football players were named either first, second, third or honorable mention selections including two Class A 1st Team choices, three Class A 2nd Team choices, one Class AA 3rd Team selection, five Class A 3rd Team selection, three Class AAA Honorable Mention choices, six Class AA Honorable Mention selections and seven Class A Honorable Mention choices.

Coudersport is the most represented District 9 school with six selections in Class A including one first-team choice, two third-team selections and three honorable mentions. Clarion in Class A (1 2nd team, 2 3rd team, 2 Honorable Mentions) and Brookville in Class AA (5 Honorable Mentions) are next in line.

The two first-team selections in District 9 are Coudersport’s’ David Babcock as a Class A Athlete and Curwensville’s J.D. Skebo as a Class A Offensive Lineman.

The three second-team choices are Clarion’s Chad Dolby as a Class A Offensive Lineman, Curwensville’s Nick Sipes as a Class A Running Back and Clarion-Limestone’s David "Tuffy" Brooks as a Class A Wide Receivers.

Represented on the various third teams are Sheffield’s Randell Warren as a Class AA Linebacker, Scott Davis, formerly of Clarion-Limestone, as a Class A Athlete, Rick Schmader of Clarion as a Class A Offensive Lineman, Caleb Morris of Coudersport as a Class A Place Kicker, Brad Rapp of Clarion as a Class A Linebacker and Brandon Smith of Coudersport as a Class A Defensive Lineman.

The Class AAA Honorable Mention selections are Bradford linebacker Garrett McEwen, Clearfield quarterback Andrew Janocko and Clearfield tight end Adam Jury.

In Class AA, the Honorable Mention choices are Brookville’s Joe Galbraith as an Athlete, Brookville’s Matt Berfield as a defensive back, Brookville’s Justin Smith as a defensive lineman, Brookville’s Levi Singleton as a linebacker, Brookville’s Kyle Thrush as an offensive lineman and Redbank Valley’s Nick Johnston as a wide receivers.

Representing District 9 as Class A Honorable Mention are Coudersport defensive back Sam Decker, Coudersport linebacker Kirk Duffee, Coudersport offensive lineman Isaac Cary, Clarion punter Paul McGinley, Clarion running back Chris McSwain, Clarion-Limestone linebacker Neil Reynolds and Port Allegany running back Cody Anderson.
