SHIPPENVILLE – Brookville’s Max Kutz is the D9Sports.com District 9 Football Player of the Week for Week Four
of the 2006 season.
Kutz ran 13 times for a school-record 321 yards and four touchdowns while also making four tackles on defense in the Raiders 46-20 win over St. Marys. He is the first Brookville player to earn Player of the Week honors since Corey Santoriello won the award in Week Two of the 2002 season. They are the only two Raiders to be named Player of the Week since the awards inception in 2000. Kutz got strong competition from Bradford’s Taylor O’Brien, who also had a monster week with 212 yards rushing and five touchdowns, and 10 tackles on defense with a sack. Also in consideration were Redbank Valley’s Alex Bladel (177 yards rushing, 3 TDs; 39 yards receiving, 1 TD) and Ridgway’s Jerico Weitzel (142 yards rushing, 4 TDs; 32 yards passing, 6 yards receiving). O’Brien, Bladel and Weitzel join 13 additional players in making up the District 9 Honor Roll this week. The honor roll recipients are listed below in alphabetical order by school. D9Sports.Com is an entirely volunteer web site in its seventh year of covering athletics within the PIAA’s District 9 located at www.d9sports.com. The site is not affiliated with the PIAA in any way.
