CAVALLARI NAMED D9SPORTS.COM DISTRICT 9 FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR WEEK TEN 2006

SHIPPENVILLE – Coudersport running back/linebacker Chris Cavallari is the final D9Sports.com District 9 Football Player of the Week for the 2006 season.

Cavallari, who earns the award for the second time this season, led the Falcons (10-0) to the AML Title with a 14-6 win over visiting Curwensville Saturday day in the final game of Week 10. He ran 28 times for a 139 yards and both Coudersport touchdowns while also making four tackles including two sacks on defense. It is the Falcons second straight AML Title.

The senior also won the award in Week Seven, and he is the second player to earn the award twice this season joining Ridgway’s Jerico Weitzel.

Cavallari got strong competition for this week’s award from Brookville’s Joe Galbraith (118 yards rushing, 1 TD; 5 tackles), Otto-Eldred’s Travis Bair (283 yards passing, 2 touchdowns), Brockway’s Anthony Varischetti (148 yards rushing; 51 yards receiving, 1 TD) and Punxsutawney’s David Pisano (112 yards rushing, 1 TD; 8 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble).

Galbraith, Bair, Varischetti and Pisano join 12 additional players in making up the District 9 Honor Roll this week. The honor roll recipients are listed below in alphabetical order by school.
