DuBOIS – Sophomore Isiah Morgan’s second half surge was enough for the Clearfield Bisons to hold off a stubborn DuBois in a 24-14 win to spoil the Beavers’ Homecoming Night at E.J. Mansell Stadium.

Morgan rushed for 183 yards on 25 carries, scoring on long runs of 37 and 41 yards. He had only managed 22 yards on five attempts in the first half. His night summed up the Bisons’ patient approach to their running game as Morgan was limited to 1-yard or less on 12 carries.

Morgan’s 37-yard TD run with 4:20 left in the third quarter put the Bisons up 17-0. DuBois got on the scoreboard on Mike Yamrick’s 41-yard run, but Morgan’s second TD run came a little over a minute later to put the game away.

The Beavers inserted backup sophomore quarterback Danny Henry into the lineup in the fourth quarter and he directed both of the team’s scoring drives. He scored on a 1-yard run with 3:44 remaining to score the game’s final points.

Henry finished 6-for-10 for 87 yards.

Clearfield quarterback Andrew Janocko completed 8 of 16 passes for 144 yards. He also scored the game’s first touchdown on a 1-yard run in the Bisons’ first possession.

The Bisons made it 10-0 on their second possession when Kyle Kline kicked a 28-yard field goal. Clearfield’s third possession nearly resulted in points, but the Bisons failed to score despite getting as close as a first-and-goal at the Beavers’ 4.

DuBois was held to two first downs and punted on all six first-half possessions. The Beavers didn’t take a snap inside the Bisons’ 20 until their final scoring drive of the game. Clearfield outgained DuBois, 388-238.
