COUDERSPORT – Chris Cavallari ran for over 200 yards and three touchdowns Friday night, as Coudersport remained undefeated with a 24-0 victory over visiting Johnsonburg Friday night.

With the win, Coudersport claimed its fifth straight AML North title and a berth in the AML Title game. The victory also clinches a District 9 Class A Playoff berth for the defending champions.

Cavallari had 260 yards on 28 carries, and his defense helped him out as well. The Falcons (7-0) defense also played a role in the win forcing five turnovers and adding a safety on Homecoming Weekend.

Coudersport took a 2-0 lead late in the second quarter thanks to the safety, which came when a shotgun snap went through Johnsonburg quarterback Calvin Grumley’s hands.

One play after the ensuing free kick, Cavallari took a pitch and ran 75 yards down the left sideline to give the Falcons an 8-0 halftime lead.

Late in the third stanza following a Grumley fumble, Coudersport drove 53 yards for a score capped by Cavallari's second TD of the game, a 32 yard run, giving the Falcons a 14-0 lead. Justin Kinder's two point pass to Dirk Cowburn, made it 16-0 entering the fourth quarter.

Coudersport put the game away, with 2:33 remaining on Cavallari's third TD of the night, this one from two yards out. Kinder ran in the two-point conversion, making the final 24-0.

Coudersport intercepted four passes on the game against Grumley, as the Rams lost for only the second time this season (5-2).

Johnsonburg’s best scoring chance came late in the first quarter when the Rams had a first-and-goal from the Coudy nine and then, following an interference penalty, a first-and-goal from the six. The drive ended, however, early in the second quarter on a missed 24-yard field goal.

Next week, the Rams host Elk County Catholic, while Coudersport will look to go 8-0, with a game at Smethport.
