COUDERSPORT 51, SHEFFIELD 0 SHEFFIELD – Coudersport racked up over 500 yards of total offense while having six different players score touchdowns in a 51-0 win at Sheffield Saturday afternoon. The Falcons (6-0 overall, 6-0 AML North), who have now won 25 straight AML North games, 15 straight regular-season games and 28 of their past 31 regular-season contests, had 502 yards of total offense including 489 on the ground. Kyle Gee led the balanced ground attack – an attack that featured nine different ball carriers – with 154 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Carin Knight added six totes for 88 yards and a score, while Tim Thomas had 11 carries for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Adam Foust (4 carries, 37 yards) and Chris Cavallari (3 carries, 29 yards) also added scores for Coudy on the ground. Justin Kinder (1-for-5, 13 yards) chipped in with a 13-yard scoring pass to Logan Hathaway. Coudersport has now won 19 of its past 20 games going back to last season. MARYS -- A poor snap on a punt attempt led to a safety and propelled St. Marys to a 9-7 win over DuBois in a District 9 League matchup between winless teams at Dutch Country Stadium Friday night. The snap over punter Kyle Bish's head led to him kicking it out of the back of the end zone to avoid a Dutch touchdown, thus giving St. Marys (1-5) the deciding two points with 3:50 left to go in the game. St. Marys scored first on quarterback Bryan Dempsey's 14-yard TD pass to Matt Gnan with 9:13 left in the second quarter. DuBois (0-6) scored a little over six minutes later on quarterback James Conway's 2-yard run. St. Marys outgained DuBois, 168-96, in the low-scoring affair. Brian Tamburlin led the Dutch with 65 yards rushing on 17 attempts. Dempsey completed 10 of 14 passes for 88 yards. DuBois dropped its eighth straight game, the longest active streak in District 9. CURWENSVILLE 42, KANE 0 CURWENSVILLE – Curwensville running back Nick Sipes edged closer to another milestone as he rushed for 142 yards on 22 carries with four touchdowns in the Golden Tide's 42-0 rout over the visiting Kane Wolves at Riverside Stadium Friday night. Sipes now sits at 4,944 career rushing yards, needing just 56 to become the first District 9 back to reach 5,000. Sipes now has 15 touchdowns this year, upping his career total to 68, which is third behind Clarion's Kyle Cathcart (73) and all-time leader Dave Richards of Clearfield (80). Curwensville (5-1) also got strong efforts from quarterback Shawn Sopic and Brandon Hess. Sopic passed for 112 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 109 yards on seven attempts while Hess scored two touchdowns, including a 54-yard TD reception. Philip Michaels paced the Tide's defense with two interceptions. Kenny Kane was 8-for-17 passing for 81 yards and two interceptions for Kane (2-4). Ross Nicholson had three catches for 64 yards. KEYSTONE 61, CLARION-LIMESTONE 8 KNOX – Clarion-Limestone returned to the field for the first time in three weeks but ended up on the short end of a 61-8 loss to Keystone Friday night in Knox. Derek Swartfager paced Keystone (3-3 overall, 3-3 KSAC) with 13 carries for 122 yards rushing and three touchdowns, while Dan Reed added two scores. With the win, Keystone regains the upper hand over Clarion (2-3 KSAC) in the battle for the second D9 Class A Playoff spot awarded to the KSAC. The Panthers have a ½ game lead over the Bobcats while also owning the head-to-head tiebreaker. C-L (1-5, 1-3), which forfeited the last two weeks, trailed 55-0 at halftime. The Lions did crack the scoreboard in the fourth quarter on a 35-yard Harry Cooper run. MONITEAU 9, BALD EAGLE AREA 0 WEST SUNBURY – Adam Cousins made sure Moniteau stayed unbeaten scoring all nine of the Warriors points in a 9-0 win over visiting Bald Eagle Friday night. Cousins had a 45-yard touchdown run and a 32-yard field goal while rushing for 94 yards on the night. Moniteau (6-0) led 3-0 at halftime and held that lead until Cousins’ TD run with 2:01 left in the game sealed the win. Tyler Armagost was 5-for-14 passing for 132 yards to help Cousins. HUNTINGDON 28, CLEARFIELD 7 HUNTINGDON -- Tim Rohrer rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns as the Huntingdon Bearcats slapped some Red Zone Blues on visiting Clearfield in a 28-7 win in Mountain Athletic Conference-Seven Mountains Division play Friday night. Huntingdon (5-1) stopped the Bisons' four-game winning streak with the help from its defense. Clearfield (4-2) was denied of points on five different drives into the Bearcats' Red Zone. Clearfield finally scored after getting down 28-0 when quarterback Andrew Janocko hit Doug Kephart with a 17-yard TD pass with 1:12 left in the game. Janocko completed 17 of 36 passes for 230 yards, but he was dropped for losses totaling 80 yards rushing on 11 attempts. Kephart caught six passes for 126 yards. Rohrer was actually a last-minute replacement as a starter when starter Joey Riley couldn't go because of back spasms. PUNXSUTAWNEY 21, LEWISTOWN 7 PUNXSUTAWNEY -- Mike Smiley scored three touchdowns to lead Punxsutawney to its first-ever Mountain Athletic Conference-Seven Mountains Division victory in a 21-7 decision over winless Lewistown Friday night. The Chucks (2-4) matched their combined win totals from the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Lewistown dropped to 0-6. Smiley, who rushed for 109 yards, scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards and caught a 3-yard TD pass from quarterback Zach Smith.
