SHIPPENVILLE – Elk County Catholic’s Kyle Garner is the D9Sports.com District 9 Football Player of the Week for Week Five of the 2007 season after leading the Crusaders to a 47-14 win over Brockway Friday night.

Garner accounted for six of ECC’s seven touchdowns throwing for five and rushing for a sixth. He was 6-for-9 passing for 175 yards and the five scores and carried the ball six times for 13 yards and the touchdown.

It is the second time this season an ECC player has been named Player of the Week. Eric Mastrogiacomo was the Co-Player of the Week in Week Two.

Garner got strong competition this week from Brookville’s Joe Galbraith who ran for 293 yards and four touchdowns in a 57-0 win over Clarion-Limestone.

Galbraith joins 14 additional players on the District 9 Honor Roll this week. The honor roll recipients are listed below.
