QUESTION & ANSWER
Q: Karns City won the KSAC title and advanced to the District 9 Class AA title game last season with a team that many didn't expect to make that kind of noise, especially with a mostly underclass offensive line. What was the key to last year's success, and what has been the key to continuing that success in the early part of this season?
A: We are a team that plays four quarters of football. We don't quit. We have the drive to go to the District 9 playoffs and win.

Q: As a tight end/defensive linemen you spend a lot of time getting dirty in the trenches and not really a ton of time getting your name in the media. Do you ever feel underappreciated or does the team success mean more to you than individual accolades?
A: Team success means more to me. This is a team sport, and it takes 11 players to be successful.

Q: Karns City has had a great tradition in football but hasn't won a District 9 title since 2001. Last year's team came really close to taking home the title. What do you guys have to do this year to take the next step?
A: We need to play mistake-free football and continue to play hard taking it one game at a time.

Q: Your team seems to always find ways to win games and always seems to play better in the second half no matter what the score is. Why do you think this is?
A: It's two things. The never quite attitude of my teammates and the fact that we play hard to the end of the game.

Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: To attend a 4-year college and play college football.
