QUESTION & ANSWER
Q: You missed nearly all of last year with an injury that you suffered in the opening game. How frustrating was the injury for you, and what has been the key to your returning to the level of play you had as a sophomore?
A: It was VERY Frustrating. I felt as if I let my whole team down. It was really hard seeing the team I grew up with, and knowing how hard we worked together to have a great season, play while I stood on the sidelines. I had many different keys that helped me get back to where I left off. First, I had a great doctor and great physical therapists. Dr. Johe and the Elk Regional staff were wonderful. Second, we had a big off season. We played several 7-on-7 tournaments that really helped me get back into the groove with the receivers and the running backs. Finally, football has been a big part of my life. I wasn’t going to let an injury take that away from me.

Q: Offensively, early on this season your team seems to have a lot of weapons. Does that make things easier for you as a quarterback or is it harder because there are so many different plays the coaching staff can call and so many different players who might want the football?
A: I think it is way easier. Any quarterback would be thrilled to have the speed and talent this team has. Nobody on the team is selfish. We only care about one stat, and that’s the wins and loses.

Q: Kane has always been known as a basketball school more so than a football school and the school has never won a District 9 title while only winning one AML and AML South title. Is it a goal of this year’s team to try to change some of that history?
A: Yes, it is our goal. Our team has been working hard since we were 9 years old to go farther than anyone else in Kane. With the great line we have now and the speed surrounding it, we have the chance to do what nobody else has done in Kane.

Q: Kane is sort of located in a media “blackhole” in District 9. You have a local newspaper and a radio station but don’t really get covered by any papers like a lot of District 9 does. Therefore, a lot of people don’t know much about the town, the school or the football program. What is something you would like to share with them about each?
A: Kane is a small town in the middle of the Allegheny National Forest . The town may be small but the support they give the school and the athletes is amazing. Our school is really nice. The facilities are wonderful, and the teachers are very supportive. The football program is the BEST. We have a great coaching staff with a lot of talent, experience and wisdom. We are also lucky enough to have Trisha Wright, one of the best athletic trainers around. Last but not least, we have the Quarterback Club. I can’t thank them enough for everything they do for us. We are served great meals, and we are given spirit packs, among other things. All in all, I think our town, school and football program are all part of a great package. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: I plan to attend college majoring in elementary education and play college football.
