QUESTION & ANSWER
Q: Cameron County is considered one of the favorites to win the District 9 Class A title this season. How are you and your teammates handling those high expectations?
A: We aren’t really looking at it as us being the favorites because there are some good teams besides CC in D9, mainly Redbank Valley, Kane and Coudersport.  We are trying to stay low keyed and take one game at a time. Most of us on this team, this year, have been starting or at least playing a lot for the last three years at the varsity level, so I think we put high expectations on ourselves, not so much from the public or media.

Q: Your offense is very diversified and a lot of different people handle the football. As the quarterback, is it hard to keep everyone happy in the offense or would you consider your team an unselfish one?
A: Oh, this is an easy one. We want to win, first and foremost. I consider us as being very unselfish.  We all have our own strengths and weaknesses. I don’t always play my best, so someone else picks me up. It does get hard sometimes because one guy has a good game one week and the next week something else is working better and another guy is making the big plays so you can’t just look to stop one or two of us, you have to stop all of us. But for the most, we are a tight-knit team and can handle the spreading out of the ball. The seniors on this team have been great, close friends for so long. And playing together over the years has made it a lot easier.

Q: Many of your games this year have been blowouts. Do you like that or would you rather have some closer games to play in? As a follow-up, is there any worry that not playing a lot of close games could hurt you guys come playoff team when games tend to be a lot tighter?
A: I don’t really have a preference, I think that tougher games make you a better team, win or lose, but the problem is, you don’t always win them. On the second part, not really, because we try to start out every game as if it were for the D9 championship, and if it ends up a blowout, then so be it, as long as everyone is healthy at the end of the game, that is a plus.

Q: Cameron County broke a long streak of AML North wins by Coudersport earlier this season? What did you guys learn from that game?
A: Even though a lot of us are good friends with  some of the Coudy guys, I think that all of us knew that we could beat them. It was just a matter of doing it, and doing it at their field was even better. They have been, and still are, a great team and program and even though all of D9 expects them to win all of the time we learned that we can play with some of the best and beat them. What we took away from that game, was that, even though we didn't play our best in the first half of the Coudy game, we still got it together in the second half and won. We never gave up.

Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: I am planning on playing baseball, on a scholarship, for St. Bonaventure University, and I am undecided on a major.
