BROCKWAY – Kane’s record setting offensive season has now led the Wolves’ first AML South title since 2002 thanks to a 51-0 shellacking of Brockway Friday night in Brockway.

It marks the second straight week and the third time this season Kane (8-0 overall, 8-0 AML South) has scored 50 or more points in game. It is the first time in the school’s 105 years of playing football that it has scored 50 or more points three times in a season. The previous mark of twice, which was matched last week, occurred way back in 1917.

Dustin Moran continued his quietly solid season for Kane rushing for 125 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries. The 5-foot-9 senior now has 773 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns and 157 yards receiving and two scores on the year.

Matt Mix added two touchdowns, and Zach Anderson threw for two scores in helping the Wolves to the victory.

The night was suppose to be a showdown for the AML South title – a Brockway win would have very much kept the Rovers title hopes alive. But instead Kane racked up 469 yards of total offense and built leads of 12-0 at the end of the first quarter, 26-0 at halftime and 45-0 at the end of three quarters while showing that it belongs in the same talk with Cameron County for Class A favorites heading toward the postseason. The Red Raiders own a 37-0 win over Brockway.

Senior quarterback Zach Anderson also had a big night for Kane going 6-for-13 passing for 183 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He threw a 58-yard scoring strike to John Bizzak for the game’s first score 3:17 into the contest and then hooked up with Mix on a 49-yard pass with 8:02 left in the first half that made it 26-0 Kane.

In between those two scores, Mix scored on a 1-yard run and Mike Punk on a 70-yard gallop, his only run of the game.

Moran quickly put the game away with three touchdowns in the third quarter.

He scored on a 16-yard run early in the quarter then added a 2-yard run midway through the frame before finishing off the night with an 18-yard run with 1:24 to go in the quarter.

Mark Ross capped the Kane scoring with a 15-yard run with just under four minutes to play.

Brockway (5-3), meanwhile, was plagued by fumble-its. The Rovers put the ball on the ground eight times, and although they didn’t lose a fumble the mistakes proved to be drive killers.

Dillon Park and Camdon Makay each ran for 68 yards to pace the Rovers. Park tacked on four catches for 42 yards.

NOTES – Mix had an all-around solid game with five carries for 35 yards and the touchdown and three catches for 71 yards and the score while also intercepting a pass on defense … Bizzak added two catches for 86 yards ... Kane will host either Cameron County or Coudersport in the AML Title game Nov. 3. It will be Cameron if the Red Raiders win one of their final two games starting Saturday at Sheffield or Coudersport loses to Kane next week … The 51-point loss was Brockway’s biggest loss since losing to Redbank Valley by 56 (62-6) in 1991 and the Rovers largest shutout loss in 59 years (66-0 to Brookville in 1948) … Brockway has been shut out twice in a season for the first time in 1996.
